Faced a little adversity tonight. Lumberton scored first, and the cards answered back, then never looked back.

We played sloppy at times and our conditioning was bad. Too many mistakes that Lum didn’t make us pay for.

My assessment as of this week: we’re not “the real deal” at this point in the season. But I think we have a good shot at making the playoffs in this district if we stay healthy.

Lum has some work to do.

I tried to tell ppl 🤷🏾‍♂️

1. Right on 2. Right on 3. Understatement (but right on).

I get your point that the district isn't exactly loaded with Juggernauts at the moment, but the worst in the state is a bit much. There are several that I don't know anything about so it's hard to comment on them, but district 11 is WAY worse than ours. I think ours just ends up looking bad because of who we pair up with in Bi-District, but like I said I get your point.

Get it straight…. We opted to a larger classification and we’re leading the district.

Who else is doing that in SETX?

No one.

Show some respect.

Jealous of? Win over Lumberton? OF? Which is one am I missing here lol

I'm jealous for other reasons. Not the red shirts nor the concession stand. Maybe it's the FREE YouTube broadcasts? Naw. It's the community and kids embracing the new staff and the culture change they brought with them. Winners rub off on others. Cardinal country will no longer be known as a baseball school. Although I expect winning on the gridiron to help on the diamond next spring.

Wins over Buna, Kirbyville, Orangefield and Lumberton. Let me tell you. The state is SHAKING in their boots over this POWERHOUSE Bridge City team. Definitely was not impressed. They will be okay in district and MAYBE squeak out a playoff spot.

Lumberton on the other hand. They might not win a game. Back to the traditional losing attitude for those Raiders.

Nobody is saying that BC is a juggernaut. They are vastly improved, but not juggernauts. You see, It’s this level of sarcasm and hate that bothers me. BC finally has something to be excited about and comments like yours show that you are jealous of it, you are unhappy in life, or maybe you’re just simply a mule (for lack for a better term).

Yes!!  The hate and sarcasm against BC is sickening.  These are kids working hard, buying into the new system and new coaches.  Congratulate them and move on.

“Technically”,  I guess.

But a win over Lum > a win over the Lyin’s.

And HJ got thumped by EC while the Cardinals remain unvanquished.

Advantage Peckers.

Boy you’re not even smart enough to know what you’re talking. Opted up for a lesser district cause they scared!

Nobody is scared of anything. BC would beat Silsbee and Jasper. WOS and HF would be close.

Maybe I’m delusional, idk, but one thing is certain, I would love to see them compete against Silsbee, WOS, Jasper, and HF. They would have a shot in any of those games. Silsbee hasn’t shown me anything this year signaling that they would soundly beat BC. If BC has a chance to beat their entire district. They would have a great shot to beat Silsbee. Silsbee barely beat LCM, and LCM just barely escaped Vidor.

I think it would be a competitive game, especially is Silsbee is fighting off the injury bug.

I wouldn’t bet either way, though.

I went to the BC/Silsbee scrimmage…

Our defense needed a little time to settle down, but nobody scored in the live action quarters. BC’s defense is without a doubt better than Silsbee’s, and our QB looked better than anybody on the Tiger’s roster. We could use more athleticism, though.  I’d give the coaching edge to BC, also… Smalley makes adjustments.

I think it would be a good game, either way.

BC might not get blown out by all of those teams like last year, but Jasper is the only team they’d have a realistic shot against out of those four this year, and they look worse than they are because they somehow ended up scheduling 2 of the best teams in the state.  I’m confident Jasper would be 4-0 with similar results had they worked their way through district 10-3A in their warmup games. Silsbee isn’t that down from their team that beat y’all by 4 scores last year, and WOS appears to have improved significantly from the team that beat y’all by 14.  Jasper and HF beat y’all by 35 and 49, respectively.  Yes, y’all are better this year.   But (Some) BC fans are on here getting worked up about “sarcasm” and a “lack of respect”.  the reason y’all are getting it because there’s a healthy number of y’all that think that a 4-0 record against a mediocre 3A schedule and an 0-4 Lumberton team that has fallen off the face of the earth means y’all would be competing in 9-4A. y’all opted up for a reason, and it wasn’t to play against a higher level of competition. If y’all had stayed put, there would be 3-4 reality checks coming down the pipe.  So absolutely enjoy the season and the success y’all will have, but try not to let it go to your heads.

And Jasper is far from certain.  They’re down some, but they beat lumberton by basically the same as BC, and had a couple of brutal matchups scheduled this year.  Blew the BU game, but could’ve easily scheduled a couple of cupcakes instead CH and Carthage and have a nice 4-1 record right now.  Won’t find many 4A schools with a tougher schedule in the state this year.

    • Say that then. Don't just stop at i am pro-life. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A life is being taken in both instances.
    • I get it!!  I was once in your shoes. I was that person in the stands, loudly complaining about “bad officiating.” Now, with the rise of social media, it’s easier than ever to voice these criticisms online.  I thought I could see every call better than the officials on the floor. Then someone said to me, “If you can do better, get in the game.”   That challenge changed my life. Over 20 years ago, I became a basketball official, and what I’ve learned since then is eye-opening.   Officiating is not just about making calls. It’s about managing the game, the players, the coaches, and yes, the fans. We face a new generation of student-athletes who have been raised in a culture where everyone gets a trophy and losing is almost taboo. We deal with fans who question our integrity and sometimes become outright hostile.   I acknowledge that officials aren’t perfect; we have off days just like anyone else. However, the increasing hostility from fans is driving many to leave officiating. According to the National Federation of High School Associations, approximately 50,000 high school officials have left the profession since the 2018-19 season, with fan behavior being a significant factor.    Here’s the reality: without officials, there is no game.   So, instead of tearing down the people who make your games possible, here’s a suggestion:   • Thank the officials for being part of the game. • Thank them for the countless hours they spend studying rules, mastering mechanics, and working to improve. • Thank them for their patience with privilege-minded athletes and overly aggressive fans.   Next time you see an official, instead of criticizing, take a moment to say, “Thank you.” They’re out there to make the game happen, and trust me, it’s not as easy as it looks from the stands.   If you think you can do better, take the challenge like I did. Get in the game. You might just discover how much it takes to blow that whistle.
