Bridge City has improved, that's a fact!!

But what I want to see is what they can do against a a team with a fast, quick defense. I also want to see if they can defend a speedy offense. Can the BC secondary hold up against a strong passing game?

I have seen BC twice this season. Scrimmage against Silsbee, game against Orangefield. On the sidelines for both. So I have seen with my own eyes, up close. 

I just have some doubts what BC could do against some fast, athletic teams. I think they would struggle some.

I just don't think they WOULD beat Silsbee, Jasper, HF and WO-S. Could they? Well maybe.

If y’all had stayed put, there would be 3-4 reality checks coming down the pipe.  So absolutely enjoy the season and the success y’all will have, but try not to let it go to your heads.

did you miss the part where I was quoting a BC fan who said “ I would love to see them compete against Silsbee, WOS, Jasper, and HF. They would have a shot in any of those games.”  if a BC fan is making a claim that BC would compete with the top 4 of the district they fled from this year, everything I said was a “valid argument”, as well as relevant.

My point about your previous post was that you stated BC WOULD beat Silsbee and Jasper. I disagree.

Now had you said they COULD win those games or have a good chance, then I WOULD have no problem with that statement.

Since when does a 2 TD win qualify as barely beating someone?

Bridge City hasn't shown me anything that they WOULD beat Silsbee.

I get what you’re saying, and I respect your opinion. I personally wish BC would’ve stayed down myself. I can’t speak for the admins that made the decision to opt up. I just hate seeing people run down the progress BC has made. I mean for the past almost decade, BC has been BAD, even in games they have won, they weren’t dominant wins.

They just wanted a chance to make a playoff game. Nobody expects them to be playing on Turkey day.

They will have an easier path to round 1 in 4A D1.

I literally care nothing about bridge city sports.  My only issue with yalls success is the posters coming out of the woodworks trying to make what they’ve done into something it’s not.  And “fled” is a perfect description of what happened.

I haven’t seen anyone on here that hasn’t acknowledged the improvement.  Y’all should be proud of your boys.  These guys showing up out of nowhere demanding respect, claiming jealousy, or asking for relevance are what have been getting me going on here.  It reminds me of the old L-train posters when they finally had a decent season way back when.  Certain posters seem to think that everyone should be as excited and impressed as they are. I have no reason to root for or against BC.  I don’t care one way or another if they go 10-0 or lose their last 6 games.  They weren’t a threat to my team when we were in the same district, and they certainly aren’t now.  I just get tired of some of the goofy posts.

It was perfect timing for me, I'd never thought I'd be pulling for BC as an Orangefield alum. I've got family playing for BC now, so naturally I root for them.

They won't win a single playoff game if they make it. But that isn't their goal. Their goal was just to make the playoffs in a weaker district.

Likely the case, like you said it's not their goal.

The weaker district thing is true, but a better fit for BC is it not? Idk why people complain about it so much it allows BC to be competitive. It affects no one from the original district. 

When I said "not a deep playoff team", I was expressing that they are a playoff team in 4A-D1 but won't be for long. Trying to give a realistic opinion of BC because it seems like people think they're hot garbage or the best team in the area🤣 Neither of which is the case

1. 100% agree - and anyone who says the criticism comes from anywhere else ("I'd say it's from pent up jealousy."), and thinking they possibly could win the district they opted out of (for obvious reasons) is silly. Just say, "We ran from the district we were in because it was too hard. It paid off!" That would be fair enough. And though embarrassing to finally admit that, I think it would cut down on the  actual criticism of the BC program. I'm happy for them. I hope they do great in their newfound home. I'm just not delusional.

2. It should be gone from there too. Idk why we can't get that curtailed. There's about 3 or 4 that need a vacation.

Difference is, they (L-Train) did it in the district they were assigned, and it wasn't "way back when" either... Just sayin. And it was more than a single "decent" season. The Cards started their Build Back Better campaign after "opting up" then playing down and beating the likes of Buna & Kirbyville and before district even started.

Maybe they should trounce the 4A-D1 district (which is possible) and eventually go back "down" to prove a point and be successful there too. Now THAT would be interesting...
