Congrats Bears When dubois runs the same 5 plays you cant expect to have any offense. Literally no diversity in playcalling. Absolutely maddening to me.

I know, Vidors program is being held captive by the Slot-T mafia and I'm guessing DuBois' son will be handed the reins after his dad retires. They will lose the next two games then start winning against the worst district opponents. They need to hire a good head coach but Jay Kilgo VISD Superintendent won't let that happen, he's buddies with this group KF89 and Tiger33 1 1

Sounds like the Slot T was the reason this game was close

The dang freshman team has more diverse playcalling than the varsity. So does dubois not trust his players to execute more than the base plays? im just confused about why the VARSITY OFFENSE is more basic than what the freshman run? Its only an assumption, i have no idea what happens behind the scenes, but being around this offense since i was a kid, it definitely does not resemble the product/playcalling we were told we were getting in the offseason.
setxathlete14 Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 This is funny. Vidor scored on a well timed deep bomb too.

Not sure man, wish i could plant a wire in the coaches office to have the inside sources on it all 😂 all i know is this year was going to be a down year, the next 3 should be good, next year will be a learning curve for this years freshman, and their junior and senior year we should be LOADED. Its just frustrating to see. I typically rant more than most though about it lmao, because i dont think anyone is advancing out of bi-district with the addition of Longview-Pinetree into that district of doom we get to play
BBfan061 Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 Ah yes… it’s the Slot T’s fault Vidor isn’t doing well… There are several teams that run the same 5-6 plays for the most part and have success… I don’t think it’s the offensive schemes that’s costing Vidor wins Reagan 1
Right99JOH Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 This was Vidors game to lose. Had every chance to put the bears to sleep but due to lack of discipline (penalties) and lack of execution (special teams, fumbles, tackling, & coaches play calling) Vidor came up short. Vidors secondary to me was the biggest question mark coming into this game but held up pretty well with the help of LCMs QB (not very accurate but is a heck of a runner).

Deep passes were so overthrown they looked like punts..... im critical but....Passing has to be better. Sitting here watching Gameday and Saban just made a statement about picking/playing the right QB. “Everybody on that team knows who should be playing QB, and as a coach if you don’t have that pulse and pick the right guy to do it, you’re in trouble”. Watching LCM’s offense struggle last night, especially in the passing game, seems to me they’re in trouble. Your_mom 1

If we don't get back to what works this will be a short season for this group! This new offensive lineup is terrible HOPEFULLY changes are coming! BEAR4LIFE 1

I do completely agree that the left handed senior should be back there catching the snaps. He has a better touch on the ball. Your_mom and BEAR4LIFE 2

Didn't think I needed to state the obvious but no it's not the entire offensive scheme even you stated the QB situation which I agree as well so mentioning the receiving lineup isn't a concern if we can't get the ball to them! The running game needs more of the power running we saw at the beginning of season that we got away from which proved evident the last possession of the game last night. We can't beat every team to the sidelines with speed and it's been showing. That O line opens holes and we don't use it to our advantage till we go to a short yardage or crunch time situation. We saw multiple backs in the scrimmages that produced yards and now we are riding with one hoping to win with speed. BEAR4LIFE 1

The All District RB(#22)from last year isn’t even the starter anymore. “Spreading the love” is the reasoning. Although the kid that replaced him(#7) had a banger of a game last week, agreed they need to get back to power running when the East/west isn’t getting it done. LCMBears and Your_mom 2

Better touch sure but 0 was a game changer running the ball.
americasteam22 Posted September 28 Report Posted September 28 Exciting game last night even though both teams were sloppy. Things to work on that will help QB, snaps, hard to get in rhythm with high snaps throwing off flow of play. Bad snaps probably caused penalties first two drives. QB did come up huge in 4th with probably game winning run. But yes throws need to be better. Penalties first two drives probably cost points. Use both RBs they can handle playing both ways. Im just excited to be 1-0 headed in to rest of district, this team has shown signs of putting it together.

The next few years will be better imo and i imagine the offense will look alot better. No shaming anyone, but just dont think we have the horses this year on the line to be consistent against good teams with a good dline. Number 91 on LCM gave us fits ALL NIGHT. As i mentioned in a post earlier most people knew this would be a downyear, but everyone hates losing so emotions sometimes spill over, all i know is nobody in this district will advance past the 1st round barring a major upset, we just dont matchup with the other district well this year (and most years).

Barring an upset firmly think LCM runs the table
Defenseguru Posted September 30 Report Posted September 30 I know a lot of people don’t like the slot T, but it has been very effective for Vidor for a long time, they had the ball the entire third quarter, it works and is extremely hard to defend, in my opinion it is what definitely kept the game close.

There is talent that is coming up (freshmen team) and that talent will be for the most part wasted running the slot-t. I've watched a pretty good amount of their games from little league to jr high and running a form of the spread would benefit them very good! BUT IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!

Yep, lots of talent coming in that freshman class with those kids who were redshirted in the 6th grade.

Looked like that messed up timing on a lot of the RPO stuff they were running
