Conroe too for the older farts. I think Brenham has to be the pick. That rivalry has probably been the most consistently and competitively played over the long haul. TrojanWarrior08 1 Quote

They have always played in the same classification or district for a long time. But for the longest it was them and Livingston. Only reason Willis was mentioned by me was for the past 20 plus years they had close games but I remember back when Willis was in our district... Times change. Quote
TrojanWarrior08 Posted October 3 Report Posted October 3 And for my pick I hate that I have to be bias but I got Huntsville 35-32... Other than that I would definitely root for PNG. Quote
png9mon Posted October 3 Report Posted October 3 If Huntsville wins district they will be hosting a playoff game at their stadium, even with the small visitors side. Let's go Indians & take care of business. Let's get that District Championship this year. Indian stadium is more than big enough to handle any team we match up against in the 1st Round. Quote

Any team will have a long road trip. Looking at District 7, the 4 seed could be Nacogdoches, Whitehouse, Hallsville, or Mt. Pleasant. That’s between 1:45 and 3:30 trips to Huntsville. Add another hour if it’s to PNG. Pretty sure they wont be packing the house in a game where they are sacrificial lambs. Plenty of room. Quote

They can really go to any district but still be the team that's furtherest out. Quote
PhatMack19 Posted October 3 Report Posted October 3 We get out of school tomorrow at noon. Yay for having to take another half day off of work for HS football…. These districts are stupid Quote
lcm93 Posted October 3 Author Report Posted October 3 Huntsville is kinda of midpoint between port neches groves and dallas south oak cliff !!! Quote

That doesn’t change the fact that every student in the district will get out of school at 12, forcing parents that have no interest in the game to take a half day off of work. AggiesAreWe 1 Quote

It’s borderline nuts that PNG ISD does this for a HS football game. Does Nederland or any other district also do this for long distance away games? Quote

1970 Posted October 4 Report Posted October 4 I scanned through the Huntsville coach's weekly interview, posted on another forum. He's correct, PNG isn't anything to worry about. Lake Creek should have won that game last week, they had plenty of opportunities. He isn't impressed at all. I sure hope he makes it a point to tell the Huntsville team to just relax and take it easy tonight. No worries. Mr. Buddy Garrity, CS. and BleedBlackandGold 3 Quote

With that said, I found the Nederland isd schedule and they do not have early dismissal for their long trip to play Montgomery on 11/8. Maybe they have extra bus capacity. Eazy Posted October 4 Report Posted October 4 Is the coach supposed to say that his team is terrified and they don’t want to play? Or that his team thinks they can win? PNG beat both of these teams in the playoffs last year, won State, but now apparently there is no respect. Quote

Scanning coaches shows looking for any snippet that can be interpreted as disrespect. Hey, the strategy worked all last season, so I'm just trying to keep it going. Besides, I'm just helping the coach out a little. His superintendent was sitting right there, and I hear that he's a PNG grad. Anyway like I said I ff'd through and caught the gist of it. Just at a glance actually I think he was more blase' about LC than PNG. But these good coaches remind me of stock brokers, cautiously optimistic about their recommendations for a stock, like maybe NVDA or Apple. I'm hoping for a better game than the LC game, those kinds of games are too much for my nerves. About half the point total of last week's PNG-LC score-fest would be ok. Quote

He simply expressed confidence, and even complimented our defense (kind of, but he was kinder than I would have been). And in one of his earlier interviews he mentioned that he was glad to have us at home this year, which anyone can understand means he respects us as an opponent. He’s supposed to express confidence in his team - He doesn’t owe png anything. Quote
