PackAttack Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 BWB has improved, they are a tenacious and hard playing group. Also didn't help Lufkin not getting any points on three drives inside the red zone. BWB QB Anderson is a fast and elusive runner, as are all their RBs, they all run hard. Not much of a passing game, at least not against the Panther D.. Lufkin O took a workman like approach rushing the ball for 300 + yards. Game was over by 9::20 PM and I was back in Lufkin at 11:40 PM. BWB could be a pretty good team next year, they have a few good athletes. Lufkin came out in basic mode tonight with a few starters still out, just trying to get to themselves to the open week, to get healthy and ready for the last four game stretch for the playoffs. Wasn't pretty, but a win is a win they say. Quote
PINETREE Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 Beaumont West Brook played well enough to win this game if not for the mistakes and an absent passing game...Lufkin has some explosive players that needed to be kept in check but that wasn't the case....People on this thread saying West Brook would lose by 50 made a huge miscalculation...even DCTF had them losing by a huge margin....like i said earlier "it's why you play the game" GO BRUINS pakronos 1 Quote

I think that's a stretch. Outside the QB popping 3-4 runs BWB was pretty much kept in check. I think you guys have a lot to look forward to these next 2 years. Is the QB related to Bryce Anderson? AggiesAreWe Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 I would have thought that a 5A DI team that lost by 2 TD's to a 4A DII would have lost much bigger to a fellow 5A DI team. Interesting Quote
PackAttack Posted October 5 Report Posted October 5 BWB came out strong early on but Lufkin D and O adjusted to everything and just controlled the tempo of the game. Although the QB Anderson got off 3 or 4 long runs and Lufkin gave up a couple long drives, the Panther D never let them score a TD. At no point did I think WB would win this game, and it was a home game for them. Lufkin decided to pound the rock for some reason last night, not there typical approach, but BWB probably had something to do with that. Lufkin missed a close FG, had two other drives turned over on downs inside the 5 or the score difference could have been more. Panther D made 2 or 3 BWB stops deep in their own territory too. By the way DCTF picked Lufkin by 26, Lufkin won by 26. Spread covered. The other folks in the district yet to play BWB need not overlook them, they will make you play for the win. Quote

Tam Anderson is no relation to Bryce. Quote

Interesting Lufkin left 3 TDs on the field and once we got to the 4th with the lead we just ran the clock out. Same with BH. We didn't press the issue in the 4th. Literally just ran the ball. Lufkin held WB to there lowest point total. You should talk about that. Interesting. BMTSoulja1 1 Quote

In fact, that's exactly what Silsbee did. Ran the ball the whole 2nd half. But they did it with 4th and 5th string RB's. I just remember Lufkin fans ridiculing WB for losing to a 4A DII team. But it doesn't seem it was a much different result in this game. That's all I am saying. Tiger33 1 Quote

Gametyme05 Posted October 6 Report Posted October 6 Now Hitchcock beat Silsbee pretty bad could Hitchcock play with Lufkin? Probably not. At least not this years Lufkin team. Now 2 years ago I'm sure plenty of 4A schools could have routed us Quote

Just stating how Lufkin fans reacted to West Brook losing to a 4A DII team. Then they have a similar result. Quote
