This is true… while I was never on board with the hire from a OUTSIDERS perspective I think him and his staff have done a better job this year and deserve some credit. People will complain regardless…

10- 3 year starters have made this season what it is.

also lest we forget Jasper even to this point has played one the most difficult schedules for sure in the area.

Had they actually competed against those teams that would be a valid point. Simply having a tough schedule does make the team tough. No offense, it is what it is.

They been blown out by two really good teams and thier 2 wins come against a 0-7 and 1-6 team.

yep what does do is affect your win loss record hence the 2-4. I never claimed it made us tough. the point being exactly what it is 2-4

had yall played Carthage and/or TCH you would have 3 Ls.

Interesting numbers?

Opponent's overall win %

.639 Silsbee

.590 Carthage

.568 WOS

.556 HF

.474 Jasper

.378 BC

2 tough games a strong schedule does not make

But there are so many other factors than just win percentage IMO…. I’d like to reference Bellville’s opponents win percentage last season… If WOS played Jaspers non district schedule they are probably 3-2…

I think a point is being missed here by a couple of folks.

How I read the comments here from some of the WO-S fans, they are simply down playing the win over Jasper.

I don't think any of them would argue that they would have lost to CH and Carthage.

They beat a Jasper team that came in with a 2-3 record. They see it as nothing to be bragging about.

Personally, I disagree. Coming back in the 2nd half like they did against a formidable opponent like Jasper, in Jasper, is quite impressive in my book.

Just my humble opinion.

I agree. I thought it was a great come back win and even text Silver&Blue fans telling them they should be proud of those young men.  to make it clear as far as any comments I did or didn't say or what they did o didn't mean.

our schedule to this point in the season doesn't make us tough team but at the same time we are better than what 2-4 looks like

does not make what?

Read it again in the Yoda voice.

Plus I think Aggies summed this up correctly. Honestly when I started crunching numbers I thought WOS would be lower and Jasper up high. Also why I added the others to show the differences in team schedules. For years WOS was downed for playing weak district opponent. Even heard it said that half of the 500 wins were against sub 500 teams. It's doesn't matter. You play the teams put in front of you to the best of your abilities and the outcome speaks for itself.

Much respect to Coach Crumedy for testing his young team after an unexpected deep run last season. On the other hand, I wish we were still playing some of our former rivals. But what good does it do to beat up on neighbor OC schools. Now after more research, I see the benifit of Hickman's pre district schedule. We have to build up to where he expects us to be. Can't get the Carthages and Hitchcocks until we prove to be a formidable foe.

I'm a wos fan and former player of the t program, and he will tell u himself. If jasper play calling didn't get sloppy in the second half on offense. Wos never climbs back in it. Jasper gave that game away.

Yes, you are spot on. And you have a right to your opinion of the win. We have ours.

Expectations have to be higher or we will continue down the road we've traveled for 3 years now. Many don't know, but there is strong senior leadership on this team. Many kids who've been on V since their Sophomore seasons. We SHOULD beat a young 2-4 Jasper and NOT by the skin of our teeth.

It was a huge step!! But, me personally I still don't believe in this coaching staff!! They done a great job of winning against who were on there schedule.but the true W.O could line up and match up against anyone.until  ppl see they're nowhere close to the top teams in state.its not Abt what u do in Aug,Sept,Oct but it's Abt nov, and Dec. And that's there legacy.
