spidersal Posted October 16 Report Posted October 16 I like the 5-1 start and they have improved a lot from the past 3 plus years, but I have to agree that they have played a weak schedule Dayton, Lumberton, Splendora, and West Fork a very weak this year. Silsbee scores 37 on them and is having a down year and will probably come in 4th in district. WOS has improved this season, but not appear to be anything to write home about Coach Rich and staff have done a good job and he was not responsible for the weak non-district schedule They simply do not have the talent to beat these last 4 teams although I would love for them to make the playoffs I would have more confidence in them if they had a good passing game and if the kicking game was better and they had a much stronger secondary, although I am hoping for the best CS. and Rez 2 Quote

1989NDN Posted October 17 Report Posted October 17 Nederland has a shot. Nederland is at home. Road wins are hard. Nederland, run the ball, run the ball, and run the ball some more. When you want to throw the ball, stop. Pause. Run the ball. Line up and play the best you can on defense. Maybe a turnover or two goes your way. Get a few stops, and run the ball. MLC QB Eli Morcos is the best QB you will see this season. He's good, very good. MLB RB Tyvann Byars is also good. You see a good RB in practice every day. Thomas can do everything Byars can do. You will be ready. MLC will make some plays. That's OK. Morcos and Byars are good players. Control what you can, compete, and did I say, RUN THE BALL. Nederland has a good shot to get the W. DukeS Posted October 17 Report Posted October 17 Road wins are especially tough when it’s a 2 1/2 hour drive (no thanks to the UIL)! Nederland has a shot but I’d still consider them the underdogs. It should be a much closer score than the round 1 playoff game last year between Nederland and LC. go big ned. Quote
bullets13 Posted October 17 Report Posted October 17 17 hours ago, alphadog said: What has Lake Creek done? played a real schedule? they haven't had a great season, but they put up 56 on PNG and lost late in a shootout. And they still have a whole lot of the team that went 12-1 and lost by a fg to the Indians last year in the playoffs. Nederland has improved, but LC has faced some serious squads this season. and on the flip side of that, the closest thing to a legit opponent for nederland has been WOS and Silsbee, both two divisions lower and neither as good as they were in the past (WOS is back on the rise, and Silsbee is in a rare down year). On a positive note, this next month is going to give us all a really good look into just how much the bulldogs have improved this year. 1 win in 4 will be a success with what's coming up. I would love to see Nederland find a way to finish these last four 2-2, I just struggle to see it happening. Rez 1 Quote
rvbulldogs Posted October 18 Report Posted October 18 I don’t think the dogs are where they need to be at this point in the season. Too many little mistakes. Very improved team from last year and I think this coach has them on the right path. LC 45 NED 20 Quote
navydawg31 Posted October 18 Report Posted October 18 Are dogs improved from last year? Yes. Are they ready to take down big time foe… if they was full strength and healthy I would take them odds. But some critical injuries have hurt their chances… weird things happened at bulldog stadium hoping it’s one of those nights and dogs shock the district… pulling for dogs. But likely LC by 2 TDs Quote

LC 45 NED 20 I can see Lake Creek at 45 but not Nederland at 20 despite the injuries Lake Creek's defense is not good and I expect a big game from Hubert Thomas Quote

prepballfan Posted October 18 Report Posted October 18 I hope Nederland wins. The ability to get their class A RB out in the open could go along way into keeping this game tit for tat. That's what Nederland needs to do and hope for being the team to have the ball last. MLCs offense is very good. Good luck Dogs. Love to se a win tonight. Quote
Eazy Posted October 18 Report Posted October 18 This is the only game in the District worth watching. The other 3 games look like cake walks. 1970 1 Quote
FrodoNDN Posted October 18 Report Posted October 18 I know it's early, but this could be 4th position playoff vibes. I win over LC could get them in. The QB, RB, and WR are really talented. QB is very poised in the backfield and can throw on a dime. Their D is like swiss cheese, unless they shored them up over the last games. I know we have after that game. Run the ball, keep it out of their QB's hands. Reagan 1 Quote

That’s a steep, narrow hill to climb. Nederland has opportunities remaining against Huntsville, PNg, and Montgomery - None of them are unbeatable, but as of right this second LC looks like their best chance. For Lc tonight is “probably” their last chance. That’s why I’ll be in Nederland tonight - it’s the most interesting game in the district. Reagan 1 Quote
