Newton vs Kountze

Coming off a three game win streak, the Newton Eagles face the Kountze Lions. My thoughts are another win for Newton. What say y’all

I think Kountze has improved from last year and has a great shot at making the playoffs… but Newton wins this one and names their score… 49-7 or something like that… prove me wrong Kountze

Kountze is in for a long night this Friday… even fully healthy they still get blown out by Newton… but against New Waverly they definitely can beat them

Newton will win.  Run the clock as soon as you can.   Even if no injuries Newton wins.   Kountze is down this week with injuries,  but still can’t stop Newton.

Because I think Anderson-Shiro gets the 3rd spot in this district it's between those 2 but I've seen New Waverly play and I  think absolutely not but then again the game has to be played.

I originally thought New Waverly would get the 4 seed, but they weren’t competitive against Anderson-Shiro.  Kountze hasn’t played anybody so it’s hard to gauge them.  Kountze and NW will settle it in a few weeks.  I probably still lean with NW.

if Kountze’s QB/S isn’t hurt then they stand a good chance vs New Waverly. He for sure is out this week and next I believe. Kountze’s one loss to Buna shouldn’t have happened… Kountze had 6 turnovers and 2 I think were inside the red zone… Kountze is better than people think but when you don’t have any depth injuries are killer. Newton and Woodville will beat Kountze easily. Anderson will most likely beat Kountze… but I don’t think New Waverly does if the lions are healthy.

May all stay healthy and head toward the playoffs. Glad to see Ktz having a postive year. Newton improved each game and when the passing game gets involved they will be a team hard to beat.

Has Kountze ever beat Newton in football?  I know in 85 it was 16 - 0 Newton.  We won't talk about the score my junior year!

I think Newton has won at least the last 31 games, maybe more.   1969 may be the last time Kountze won.

Looks like 1973 was the last time Kountze won District and Newton beat them 21-14 in 1st round that year.

They almost did in  2013-2014… That was the game after Kevin Shorter got hurt for Newton vs East Chambers… Newton still had another good RB that year but I forgot his name… final score was 22-20.
