Sabine Pass at West Hardin: Playoff spot on the line

Recommended Posts

Even though there will be 2-3 more games after this week for these two teams, a playoff spot and seeding rides heavily on the outcome of this one.

Current standings have Deweyville and Sabine Pass at 3-0. Evadale, West Hardin and West Sabine are all 1-1.

A Sabine Pass win Friday night will clinch a playoff spot for the Sharks. They would finish no worse than the 3rd seed.

A West Hardin win gives them the inside shot for a playoff spot. A win by 8 points or more could land them a #3 seed.

Sabine Pass has two games remaining (home vs. Deweyville and at West Sabine). West Hardin has 3 games remaining after Friday (at Deweyville, home vs. West Sabine, at Colmesneil)

Big game for both of these teams this Friday, I will be there for sure.

    • So this is the first game we have not used alternating QB's. This is apparently due to an injury which is really sad and you never want to see a kid get hurt. Continuity was there tonight, the passing game looked much better.  If I am being honest, I think the biggest thing was the QB knew if he did make a mistake he was going to right back out there to make up for it and I wonder what the effect of always wondering if you're going to be taken out at any time in the game was doing to that young sophomore who played a heck of a game  Prior to this game those "new QB for 2 plays" were completely disjointing the offense even when the plays were successful. Also we've started to do this overload to one side toss zone play that has killed everyone in district so far that we did not run prior to districts end, who knows maybe if we put our kids in space earlier in the season we might have an extra win or maybe even two this season.
    • I keep hearing that but yet to see it. (at the RB at least, some recievers have made a few plays.)
    • Sorry, yes I did mean quiet. Lot's of excitement each week around BC, just didn't seem as much after this week. I'm excited for them and hoping for an undefeated regular season. I do not believe BC has ever done this, not even when they won a state championship in the 60's. I am not saying they are going to win a state championship this year, just a chance to be undefeated before post season begins.
    • My point about the turf in Woodville is that it does not have the black rubber pellets as a filler. That turf actually has wood chips/sawdust as it's filler. They actually have to water their turf so that it doesn't dry out and become a dust bowl. First time I stepped foot on that field a few years ago, I was like "what is this stuff?" One of their coaches told me it was wood chips and they actually had to water it regularly. The wood chip filler helps keep the field cooler than the rubber pellets.
