Fewer voters will turn out for Trump this time, maybe fewer than 2016. The enthusiasm factor is virtually nonexistent in the Republican Party right now. Trump’s rallies are low energy and the stuff he talks about will thrill most of the 43% but it’s not going to pick any new votes up. His third tour with the same (even more) extreme act is bombing this time. That coupled with the fact that the DNC has probably a 10-1 advantage over the RNC in the number of campaign field offices nationally indicates that a well organized boots on the ground strategy is going to outperform Lara’s social media and boat parade strategy. I think it may be over by the time the polls close in the Central time zone. Plenty of them like him a lot, but people who don't like him are voting against Kamala. Ask me how I know. The question is what will drive the moderate swing vote: the fact that many feel one candidate is repugnant, or the fact that they’re all way worse off than they were four years ago, despite what the media is trying to tell us. 5GallonBucket

Let’s see, I’m much worse off than 4 years ago BUT I really don’t like the guy that did a much better job. This is a tough one. 🤔 Moderates, lol. After much thought and consideration, I didn’t vote for anybody in the presidential race. I might have done differently if Texas were in play, but I just wanted to send a message-that MAGA has run its course and I (and likely other formerly dependable republicans) have had enough and won’t support this hateful nonsense any longer. The lines in Harris County were all long, I went at 7am last week and still had to wait 30 minutes - It's great to see.

The only people who don’t notice or don’t care are the ones who make so much money it doesn’t affect them or who get everything given to them for free. I made a post on here somewhere almost two years ago, when inflation was bumping 10% that it would be back down a lot faster than it did in the 80’s because that was a result of the lag in productivity that happened in the 70’s and early eighties. A systemic problem with our economy. This time, it was global disruption from the pandemic that caused never before seen shortages of supply. Something known as a force majeure in legal language. It probably shows up in the exclusions section of your home insurance policy. Anyway, the fed had to raise rates to help hit the brakes, but the reason there was no recession is because when supply chains started returning to normal, the market responded and inflation is retuning to historic levels.. To blame Biden for this is no different than blaming Trump for it, which I don’t. It was a global pandemic that had not happened in a century. So, If a Democratic economic plan is able to continue we’ll see continued wage growth with low inflation and purchasing power will grow for the ones who got hit hardest. If Trump’s tariff plan gets a chance we’ll have high inflation and high unemployment. That’s something I don’t think has ever happened. Consumers will pay the tariff. That’s an instant pass through, not a creeping kind of thing. Hope I gave you some information to consider.

I also have to add that the largest, the most complex economy and society in the world can’t run on bad data. Everything from economy to health, transportation and public works. The market hates uncertainty and if the data were bad, the uncertainty would be uncontrollable. Information has to be as accurate as possible to manage the system, both public and private. Congratulations If l you ever realize that inflation is caused by deficit spending… which is caused by cutting taxes without cutting spending… your head will probably explode. y’all are trying to rehire the guy who steered the truck into the ditch, and blaming the wrecker driver who pulled the thing out of the mud without having a full-fledged recession. Trump’s plans for more tax cuts will add more to the debt than Kamala’s spending. Every economist out there recognizes it. Even Elon admits that Trump’s plan will wreck the economy. It ain’t happening PS - mass deportations will cause crazy inflation. CardinalBacker
Y’all keep saying “tax cuts! Like Reagan!” Yes, those cuts led to some instant gratification.. and they led to a ballooning debt which forced Bush to raise taxes in 1989. Trump didn’t work miracles for the economy… he just borrowed a lot of money and passed it around. The balance is still due, btw.
