Cards beat Corpus 2-0 last night. Game 2 tonight at 5.

Note: As of last night's game, the SLC has the 6th highest RPI (Boyd's World) in the nation. That is better than the American, Sunbelt (big deal in my eyes), and CUSA.  The Sunbelt has had six College World Series appearances among its schools. Yes, some were years ago.

That is very good for the SLC, however the only team that will be invited to a regional will be the team that wins the conference tournament. The committees in the major sports do not think highly of the SLC

Odds are you are correct.  The SLC has had a few seasons though with a couple teams getting in.  When it has happened the regular season champ loses out in the tournament, but has had a tremendous year with a decent strength of schedule. Not often, but not unheard of.

Lamar takes game 1 against UIW 8-5 in 10 innings.

The gametracker shows a score of 1-0 in the bottom of 2.  Not sure if it is stuck in game 1 or if they are playing 2 today.  Not seeing anything about a double header on either universities' website or X account.  Thinking the gametracker is off and off bad.

Not according to the site Lamar hater. SLC is a very weak conference.

Conference is #6 overall in RPI.  Weakest teams are around 200 RPI with the majority of the teams sitting in the top 100.

On the human polls, specifically NCBWA I saw UTRGV and Lamar had some votes but they are not in top 25. It would be truly nice if we could get two bids because winning the conference tournament will be super difficult this year.

Utilized Boyd's World for stating 6 teams in the top 100 RPI.  The NCAA website has a different list that actually has 7 and did so last week as well.

If the conference RPI remains strong, the conference has a real shot at 2 teams in the post season. Great chance if the regular season champion has a strong record and RPI, but doesn't win the conference tournament.

Could use some midweek wins over some quality programs and the Sunbelt and other historically strong leagues remain below the SLC in the conference RPI.

I like your thought process, however I just don’t see the committee taking 2 SLC teams unless they figure out tournament non winner has at least 39 wins. Unfortunately the committee’s in the major sports do not think much of the SLC

Well I just saw the 1st projection of the 64 ncaa baseball teams to make the regionals and UTRGV was the only 1 from the SLC. I know it is early, however this states what they think about the SLC
