myrecordwashorrible Posted April 6 Author Report Posted April 6 Another walkoff winner. 6-5. Skinner with an oppo line drive to the wall as Evans (fridays night's hero) was off on the pitch from first. That's 11 in a row. snakehead26 1 Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted April 6 Author Report Posted April 6 Fall in the finale 4-2. Have a midweek game against Arkansas Pune Bluff followed by a home series against Nicholls next weekend. A sweep will be very helpful in keeping the Birds hopes alive of a top 2 seed in order to host in the first round of the conference tournament. snakehead26 1 Quote
spidersal Posted April 7 Report Posted April 7 Yes they are playing good baseball with a solid record. Simply need to get it going in conference games. Conference record has to get much better. Hopefully the home series vs Nichols will be at least 2 of 3 and hopefully a sweep myrecordwashorrible 1 Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted April 10 Author Report Posted April 10 Lamar beats Pine Bluff 3-1. Not much on offense tonight. Nicholls comes to town this weekend. Quote
wo-s#1 Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 Nicholas is 0-13 on the road, should be a relatively laid back weekend for the Cards! Quote
spidersal Posted April 11 Report Posted April 11 I would not count on that. Lamar has a tendency to play to the level of competition Quote

myrecordwashorrible Posted April 13 Author Report Posted April 13 Cardinals play one ugly game! BUT, rally for 5 in the 9th for back to back walk off wins. 9-8 final. Quote
spidersal Posted April 13 Report Posted April 13 Great news finding a way to win. Bad news playing to competition level. Still have to travel to SLU where they usually struggle, to NWU where they struggle, and at home vs HCU who is in 1st. Hopefully they will keep winning and win the SLC tournament. It is going to be tough but have a good record now Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted April 13 Author Report Posted April 13 16-5 win. Cards get a much needed sweep. Now 12-6 in conference. 2 games back of what would be a 3-way tie at the top if Northwestern holds on to a 3 run lead against HCU (a few innings to go in that game). Still have 2 of those teams ( SELA and HCU) left on the schedule. Quote

myrecordwashorrible Posted April 16 Author Report Posted April 16 Midweek win over Sam Houston. LU scores a touchdown in the 2nd but misses the PAT, puts a TD with a 2pt conversion and a field goal in the 7th, and gets a Canadian 1 pt play in the 9th "quarter." Final was 18-9. snakehead26 1 Quote

Now you talking like me. Lamar needs to quit sleepwalking through so many games. Quote
spidersal Posted April 16 Report Posted April 16 I do not know if the Cardinals will win the conference tournament this year, however they will wind up with a nice record. Sometimes they play really well and sometimes struggle, but I will say that they don’t quit. They have had many late inning comebacks this season. Way to go Cards and keep it up with many conference wins out of the last 12 conference games Quote

myrecordwashorrible Posted April 18 Author Report Posted April 18 Cards take game 1 with a final of 8-2 over Northwestern State. Now 13-6 in conference and 32-8 overall. Still 2 games in back of SELA and McNeese but gain a game on HCU and UTRGV. SELA and UTRGV are matched up this weekend. Quote
myrecordwashorrible Posted Saturday at 01:31 PM Author Report Posted Saturday at 01:31 PM Fall 2-1 while playing 10 innings last night. Fall 3 games behind SELA (play them still), remain 2 games behind McNeese (McNeese), and 1 game behind HCU (final conference series). Need to jump 2 of those and UTRGV to host the 1st round of the revamped conference tournament. 10 conference games left. Quote
spidersal Posted Saturday at 09:57 PM Report Posted Saturday at 09:57 PM Another nice season for Lamar. Unfortunately today’s loss to Northwestern did the post season in. I look forward to them to either go 7-6 or 6-7 the last 13 games and finish with a very good 39-16 or 38-17 regular season record and most likely 1-2 in the SLC tournament They either still a nice season one hopes tournament will have a better outcome for the Cardinals, but they struggle with UTRGV, SEL, McNeese, and Northwestern. Still May have a chance for a 40-18 season record which is very good, but season is over after SLC tournament Quote
spidersal Posted Wednesday at 03:29 AM Report Posted Wednesday at 03:29 AM Lamar takes it on the chin 11-6 vs Houston A game I thought they may have a chance to win. 3 losses in a row They should have a good chance of winning at least 3 of the next 4 before losing at least 4 of the following 5 and hopefully they will win 2 of 3 vs HCU before SLC tournament Most likely a 38-17 regular season record which is pretty darn good Quote
spidersal Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago Nice win for the Cardinals over PV 14-3 11 games left in regular season 6 at home and 5 on the road I think they have a chance to win 5 of the 6 at home. Maybe all 6 may have a chance to go 1-4 on the road if they can beat SEL once I am still thinking 38 or 39 regular season wins before SEL tournament Quote
