PN-G will either drop the first or second game. I bleed purple and white but this team doesn't have it AT ALL.

I think the odds are against in at least the second if we face SOC. But you never know. We may not be as strong defensively as we were last year, but it can be done. For now we gotta get past Montgomery, Shut that QB down!!

Deep run in our Region will be tough with SOC and Texas High

SOC is not even close to the team they have had the last three seasons.  Their district is like playing freshman teams and the scores reflect that.  Go watch their videos and you will come to the same conclusion.

Looks like Woodville's brackett will be decent. Right now it's looking like:

1st round: West Rusk

2nd round: Grand Saline

3rd round: De Kalb

4th round: Newton

Grand Saline will be pretty tough to get past for Woodville…

So will West Rusk. First 3 rounds should be equally as tough but Woodville should find a way to win all those games. Newton and ND are the best in the region right now. The rest of the teams are fairly beatable

Chapel Hill appears to be in 4th place. Id take them by atleast 3 td over HH

That's a little steep IMO. HH has the thing going to right direction and CH is playing below expectations. Let's see how the standings shake out and this can be revisited in a couple of weeks.

Nothing against HH. I just believe East Texas football is different. I hope they prove me wrong. The only times that our district has beat a east texas team was  Palestine. I cant think of another team that our district has beat anyone else in the playoffs in the recent past.

SOC isn't what they were in 21 or 22 IMO, but this years team is better than last years team

I agree that their district is weak, but pre district games were tough. The talent level is really good albeit not as good as in previous years. They probably still have a chip on their shoulders form us keeping them from winning 3 straight championships.

I totally agree with everything you are saying, I'm just planning to assess after this week's game against LCM. There's something a little different about this HH squad, but this also will be the first battle tested team they will line up against this season. I feel like I'll know a lot more about their playoff chances after they finish a game against a team who punches back.

I believe they will beat LCM. If its wet i could see it being a close game.

If this Nederland team wins tonight with a little authority,  it will tell me they are ready to make a deep run and this is not a fluke.  They have ceased to amaze me.

I think this is the year for Houston and Dallas area teams i don't see any team in this area making a long playoff run...I hope I'm wrong

    • naw, maaaaybe 7, definitely not 8 deep.  today im avoiding sitting by #10s parents, had to move away yesterday.   "put my son back in jub, put my son back in"  and then crying on every little touch of someone.    lets ball out today ktz!
    • Very close game until the 2nd half (mostly the 4th) when Orangefield came unraveled. Worse defensive effort I have seen out of the Bobcats in three years. This team has to get back on D and quit getting beat over the top when pressing. Offensively, non ball handlers continually turn it over and their shot selection is poor. Basic basketball, such as: defensive hustle, boxing out, and taking care of the basketball are the areas the Bobcats need to work on most. Whitmire will get them on point, but he shouldn't have to coach effort at the Varsity Level.  We'll be at McnNeese this Friday night at 6pm.
    • I don’t benefit from it, that’s not my area.  But the average cost to imprison someone is around $15k per year (on average in the US) and capital cases cost somewhere between $1.5-$3M with over half being overturned or reduced to life in prison anyway.  These numbers may be inflated since the last report I read but I’m sure it would be on both sides and higher on the DP side if anything. So what’s the point?  We feel better because we got to return the favor on someone (hopefully) who committed a heinous crime?  And I don’t know I can say we have “complicated” it. Which appeal should we cut out?  Our justice system has a pecking order and we have higher courts for a reason. When we are about to impose the ultimate judgment, should we cut steps that other cases have to save a buck?  Or do we not pay for an indigent person’s experts at the trial court level because it’s too expensive? Or do we just lock them up and throw away the key (unless we later find out they weren’t actually guilty, in which case we have a key and a life we haven’t unjustly ended) and save a ton of money?  Seems to me to be an obvious solution but I’m more of a pragmatist.
    • 1 thing for certain. Coach Earned 3 more years to figure it out lol
