I was also confused. I couldn’t remember them ever playing, at least in the last 50 years. NHSBulldogFan 1 Quote

Yep, if so then that's a tough break for Huntsville, and it also means that things are serendipitously falling into place for Nederland. This is obviously their year. If some major player for Montgomery gets hurt this Friday in the PNG game, then we'll know for sure. Quote
Razor Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 Hate to hear that for the Huntsville QB, especially since he is a senior...speedy recovery for that young man...Dogs will have to fight the challenge of putting the png game in the rearview mirror and moving forward...bigger task than you think when it comes to 16 and 17 year old young men, but I believe in them...one game at a time...DC is within reach Quote
navydawg31 Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 I do say this for all bulldog nation. Come to the game early, be loud stay the whole game. Bring that mid county madness intensity in the stands to Bulldog stadium for the whole game. I know last few years there hasn’t been much to cheer for… Friday is a huge game, a win guarantees a share of the DC in year 1 of the Rich era. As well as another home game at Bulldog Stadium. Time to turn up the intensity. Pack the Dog House!!! A BUC 77 1 Quote
A BUC 77 Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 This game is on Coach Rich. Keep the guys focused on this game, not the last game, not the next game. Then enjoy the win. Quote
Rez Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 Huntsville qb is a wild card. He’s getting his first start. Extremely athletic. He might match Hubert in a foot race. Nederland can stop a run game, but his ability to tuck it and run won’t be something Ned can discount. Still, have to give a very slight edge to Nederland in this. Quote
Eazy Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 Yes, the backup Huntsville QB is athletic and he will be a good player in the coming years. But he is a Freshman. So, it’s the decision making that is the wildcard. Huntsville coaches will have to figure out how to set him up for success. Rez 1 Quote
baddog Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 You always have to respect the “put me in coach” QB. Quote

That's usually the way it works for teams that make deep runs or SC visits, its a combination of luck and skill. Quote
spidersal Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 Thanks for that, I knew they had played, but didn’t know how many times or the results. I could not find it anywhere I tried to get Nederland’s season by season results but couldn’t find them Thanks for the information and I certainly hope the Bulldogs win Friday night Quote
Eazy Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 What’s crazy about this District is that, while Nederland has the inside track for the 1 seed, they could also still end up with the 4 seed. And there are 4 teams that could still get the 2 seed. Exciting final 2 weeks. Rez and tvc184 2 Quote
spidersal Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 Yes I remember that they played each other in 1961 Nederland’s last year to make it to state just didn’t remember score. Nederland played Dumas for the championship and was about to score when Dumas intercepted in the end zone and Dumas wound up winning 6-0 Quote
Bulldogpower Posted October 29 Report Posted October 29 All things seem to favor the dogs unless this freshman QB is the 2nd coming of Tom Brady. Hopefully this game goes on auto pilot and I can focus on Montgomery playing PNG to get an idea of how they are. Quote

Matthew328 Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 Nederland and PNG could both have first round home games in two weeks...then the road trips begin lol Reagan and Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 1 Quote

grayhair777 Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 let's go Dog's!! don't underestimate the freshman QB, defense need to put he on his back a few times, then he will get Nervous feet , and throw a couple pick 6's and we can put the game away and offense can rest up for Montgomery next week. FrodoNDN Posted October 30 Report Posted October 30 Oh so the freshman running back is in there. Interesting. That kid is a good runner and he's seen playing time this year at running back. Quote

The backup QB is the 7th leading rusher in district and the starting RB is 4th… wildcat formation all night could be a handful. Quote
