  1. 1. Who wins?

I have more thoughts to add later, but for now I’ll say I don’t think Montgomery matches up with PNG in the trenches, but they might be better equipped to take advantage of our secondary than anyone we’ve played so far.

Nederland didn’t either.

Nederland matched up fine in the trenches, and they attacked our blocking lanes better than anyone all season. There were portions of the game where their D line made our o-line look silly, and I wish we had their Lb coach. I’m saying I don’t know that Montgomery can do what Nederland did.

If PNG wins and Nederland loses this week, the final game between Nederland and Montgomery will be HUGE!  Every teams seeding will change depending on that one result.  That would be a fitting end to the regular season for this District.  Hope it happens.

If PNG and Nederland both win, then, Yawn, it’s all over and everybody knows where they are.

I like option number two, PNG and Nederland both win. Nederland i’ll be the district champion, number 1 seed or whatever you want to call it.

Yes I know that if two or three teams tie with the same record, they will be called co-champions and everyone gets a trophy. One team however will go in as the first place team in district and will play the fourth place team in the bi-district round. If PNG and Nederland both win, Nederland will be #1.

does tonights game need to be played??? Sounds like PNG and Nederland already have the 1st and 2nd place secured.

Yes. Montgomery can still win district if they beat PNG this week and Nederland next week. Still lots to be played for in this district.

Anticipating both win 1st round…If PNG or Nederland gets SOC in the 2nd round I’d personally like to see a DOUBLE HEADER at NRG…PNG/Ned vs SOC and PNG/Ned vs ?…because both fan bases will SHOW UP in big #’s to support each other and it would just be FUN to watch SOC’s coach squirm..lol!   But it’ll never happen cause if we choose to flip for Houston/NRG, I bet Coach Todd will choose to flip for SOC just to be a @$$hole so yeah….not a risk worth taking!

Although personally I like Coach Todd he's very approachable Matt Stepp will tell you the same thing PN-G should be able to play them closer to home if thats what happens just on the basis of SOC playing PNG 15 minutes from home the last two years

    • Say that then. Don't just stop at i am pro-life. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A life is being taken in both instances.
    • I get it!!  I was once in your shoes. I was that person in the stands, loudly complaining about “bad officiating.” Now, with the rise of social media, it’s easier than ever to voice these criticisms online.  I thought I could see every call better than the officials on the floor. Then someone said to me, “If you can do better, get in the game.”   That challenge changed my life. Over 20 years ago, I became a basketball official, and what I’ve learned since then is eye-opening.   Officiating is not just about making calls. It’s about managing the game, the players, the coaches, and yes, the fans. We face a new generation of student-athletes who have been raised in a culture where everyone gets a trophy and losing is almost taboo. We deal with fans who question our integrity and sometimes become outright hostile.   I acknowledge that officials aren’t perfect; we have off days just like anyone else. However, the increasing hostility from fans is driving many to leave officiating. According to the National Federation of High School Associations, approximately 50,000 high school officials have left the profession since the 2018-19 season, with fan behavior being a significant factor.    Here’s the reality: without officials, there is no game.   So, instead of tearing down the people who make your games possible, here’s a suggestion:   • Thank the officials for being part of the game. • Thank them for the countless hours they spend studying rules, mastering mechanics, and working to improve. • Thank them for their patience with privilege-minded athletes and overly aggressive fans.   Next time you see an official, instead of criticizing, take a moment to say, “Thank you.” They’re out there to make the game happen, and trust me, it’s not as easy as it looks from the stands.   If you think you can do better, take the challenge like I did. Get in the game. You might just discover how much it takes to blow that whistle.
