OlDawg Posted November 2 Report Posted November 2 Good game. Went about as expected except with Simon doing all LP damage as Angleton keyed on Barnes all night. LP got a little sloppy in 3rd and let Angleton back in the game. Will need to address that for PO’s. LP D was burned for some big passes for TD’s. Angleton has a good blend of run/pass and a good QB with a couple speedy//tall receivers. They couldn’t run against LP. LP did what was needed and just played to their strength running the ball. I don’t remember them passing more than maybe 3 times all game. Quote
purple reign Posted November 2 Report Posted November 2 Angleton's best back Shockley injured early and never returned. Hope he will have a speedy recovery. Last year he missed most of the season with an injury. OlDawg 1 Quote

purple reign Posted November 2 Report Posted November 2 Simon, freshman RB for La Porte was amazing, over 300 yards I think I heard. Opponents may see him for 3 more years. Angleton probably only once more as Angleton will likely be 6A in 2026. Quote
gary-us-bonds Posted November 2 Report Posted November 2 Last, and only other, time I saw a freshman running back as talented as Simon was Leo Mills for Humble. You could easily lie and tell me that Simon is a senior and I wouldn't bat an eye. If he has any upward progression left in his development, he will be a monster in a few years. OlDawg 1 Quote

That’s a pretty big compliment to the young man. RIP Leo. Gone too soon. Quote

It's possible La Porte could be 6A in 2026 also.I drove through the area last week and monster complexes coming up.Don't know the boundaries but 146 is spouting. Quote
