They have 3 practices to fix it or give up another 40 plus

Freshman QB had 4 rushing TD’s and 1 passing TD.  That was the wildcard and I’ll say it worked out for Huntsville.

Nederland will beat Montgomery.  I've only seen each team 1x (vs. PN-G).  Nederland is better than Montgomery.  Contain the Montgomery QB.  Montgomery motions people around to get a numbers advantange on one side or the other, and then, they let the QB run outside where he has the numbers advantage.  The flip side to that scheme is setting up the numbers on the strong side with the QB faking that run and countering back to the weak side...that counter to the weak side hurt PN-G all night.  It won't take the Nederland staff long to figure out Montgomery.  Contain the Montgomery QB and give the ball to Thomas.  Nederland will win.

The defense gave up 4 tds in the 1st half 2nd half went much better...sorry but I disagree with you

That is correct, but probably the 4 seed if Montgomery QB scrambles. Nederland’s secondary does not contain well or tackle well or cover well and the LB’ers other than #6 are basically non existent, so the Bulldogs better score a lot of points

I was hoping #1 seed after tonight’s game, however watching the defense tonight I just don’t see them winning

It’s all on the coaches and special teams tonight.  Not prepared.  Stop the run is all the defense had to do.  We had 3 down lineman all night.  I’m not a defensive guru but, tell me if I’m wrong.  Huntsville seamed to do pretty good with 4 on the line.  I will say this for the dogs, they didn’t give up.

Next weeks game is going to be a shootout. I was impressed Nederland scored 38 on the Huntsville defense.  No one else in the District scored 30.

Rich will use this as a coaching moment and Ned will bounce back next week to seal the first seed spot for playoffs. Maybe a loss at this point in the season isn’t the worst thing. Sometimes in life you need a reality check.
