jake94 Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 Reports of the sky falling in Nederland are greatly exaggerated. I was very impressed with Huntsville and we went toe to toe with them for 4 quarters. We got beat by a very good team last night and are 5-1 in district with a win against our arch rival on their home field and avenged a 48 point playoff loss last year, too. The Dogs control their own destiny next week in Montgomery. Fact of the matter, there are 5 really good teams in this district that can beat each other on any given night. Before the season started if anyone would have told us Ned fans that we’d be playing for the district title in the final week of the season, I think we’d be pretty happy with that! Let’s go Dogs! dj, dogbite and A BUC 77 2 1 Quote

I could have sworn (without immediately searching back through the preseason threads) that the team that everyone wrote out of the playoffs was Montgomery. Nederland fans that I know in person aren't surprised about the Bulldogs current standing in District, with all the returning starters and new HC. Plus I haven't heard of any major injuries. If that's true (all starters healthy), then they're about the only team in district that can say that. The most surprised fans I see this season are the PNG and Dayton folks. I’m smarter than a 5th grader btw. Read my first line again. I said I couldn’t hang with the gurus. That would exclude you of course. Seeding don’t mean jack if you are going to win it all. Of course my scenario is incomprehensible to those in elementary school. Congrats on being smarter than a 5th grader. Quote

We lost a D1 linebacker to a torn ACL in week 1 that’s committed to Navy, but ok. We were supposed to finish in the 4th-6th range. Still may finish 4th… District is tough. Lake Creek and Dayton underperformed. Montgomery is a little better than I thought. PN-G and Huntsville (along with LC) were all teams that almost EVERYONE had locked in the top 3. I didn’t see anyone having Ned playing for a DC the final week, but maybe there were a few. I don’t remember it though. Great regular season any way you slice it. Hope we can put an exclamation point on it Friday night. 1970 1 Quote

Dayton has definitely under performed this season but loosing your two best payers on offense a few games into the season didn't help. We are now on our 5th OB so our offense is pretty vanilla and predictable. PNG will smoke us!!! Mr. Buddy Garrity 1 Quote

SOC went head to head with Duncanville for 3 quarters. Neither PNG or Nederland for sure is doing that. SOC is better this season than last. The addition of Reggie McNeal Jr has made them more dangerous Quote

Eazy Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 No doubt. SOC is probably rated way higher than Katy Isd or Heights educational wise. Rez, PNG4LIFE91 and DukeS 3 Quote

They immediately went shopping and announced the Red Oak pass rusher - a highly touted D1 prospect — was transferring within a few weeks after the championship. All for non-football reasons, of course. Quote

Honestly, I could care less about seeding and placement in the district. I’ll be supporting both Nederland and PNG through the playoffs. These young men from BOTH teams play their hearts out for our enjoyment and excitement every Friday night. Prayers for both teams for injury free games for the rest of the season. I know it can be fun with the pokes and jabs in our comments. At the end of the day, regardless which team you support, MidCounty has done each and everyone of us PROUD! God Bless🙏 Well said. png9mon and Rez 2 Quote
