Reagan Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 From the article: "According to Kennedy, advertising money spent on television has nothing to do with trying to sell their products and everything to do with keeping networks from running negative stories or investigations about them. There have been numerous reports and even full documentaries about this practice over the years but it is still considered to be a “conspiracy theory”… as reported by corporate media. This will affect every major news outlet, which gets the majority of their funding from…. BIG PHARMA. Only two countries allow Big Pharma to buy television ads: the United States and New Zealand." I've never really considered this: That the lame stream media would not state that a product may be harmful because they are getting massive amounts of funding from big Pharma. Hummmm! Thoughts?! UT alum Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 10 hours ago, Reagan said: @UT alum Thoughts?! I’ve never agreed with advertising prescription medicine on TV. If you think Big Pharma will let RFK Jr. get in their way, you need to wake up. They keep Republicans (and some democrats) from making them compete, whether it’s to have to negotiate with Medicare or let us choose to get our meds from Canada. What concerns me is not some nefarious media plot to keep us uninformed. It’s the fact that by spending more for advertising (by 37%) than R&D, they are stifling efforts to find better products. They don’t need to if there’s no competition. It’s the Republican Party that consistently blocks Medicare negotiaions. As an aside, what if supplements were regulated? FOX News would go out of business. Quote
baddog Posted November 3 Report Posted November 3 Most of the TV ads need to be read in the small print at the bottom ( pause your tv if possible). They verbally explain the side effects, but most of them…..the side effects are worse than what you are treating, and they’re said so fast, it’s almost impossible to take in. They do say to ask your doctor if you can take their product. The one that gets me is if you are treating depression, a side effect or their product is that it may induce suicidal tendencies….go figure. Quote
