Silsbee vs Shepard

If these teams match up this year, I think Silsbee has a dang good chance to pull off an upset. Silsbee struggles vs the pass, not run.

I agree. But our offense will need to be moving the ball like against jasper and not like WOS.

Shepheard is the only team on our radar at this time. Not worried about what could be down the road. This week is what we are working on. TigerNation!!!

@STiger85 you will have to forgive @BBfan061. he is always looking 2, 3, 4 sometimes 10 weeks ahead.

He lives for when Bellville can beat one of area teams.

How about we keep this to Shepherd at Silsbee talk for now?

Is certain players for Silsbee still out on injury if so this affects my prediction of this one.

Yes forgive me for saying Silsbee wins by 21-28 and basically saying they cruise into round 2… back to the hot topic of the Pirates and Tigers

It is the title of the thread.

You immediately sent it off tracks with the 2ND round (not even 1st rd.) playoff talk in the first post. That's all I am saying.

At least let this game be talked about some.

Make sure you comment within the confines of what the forum police dictate. Especially when it evokes memories of the trauma sustained in last year’s matchup with Bellville.

I hope Silsbee gets the ball back into Johnson and Millers hands. Good things happen when they have thr ball. Im also glad to see Farr more at LB than RB. Id like to see him carry the ball 5-10 times a game only to relieve Johnson or #20/#23. #24 for Silsbee seems to have some solid hands i forget his last name. Shepard is a terrible team and a few notiches up over Tarkington. I expect Smith to run the ball 80% of the time this game. Might be a little rain.

    • Why play in Rusk?   15 miles farther you guys could have played in Jacksonville at the Tomato Bowl
    • The freshman RB that was called up early is as others have described. If he chooses a solid path, he could easily be LP’s first 5 star. That’s saying something with the RB’s that have come through La Porte. There have been Olympic gold medalists, NFL players, and others. But, no 5 stars I’m aware of… Let’s hope he listens to solid role models, and realizes the opportunity he’s been given to use the talent he’s been gifted. On top of that, Barnes, Sandolph, and Bright are still there. Not sure how coach keeps them all happy spreading the ball around.
    • I just heard we spent $500 Million in Russia to study cats.  Anyone actually gullible enough to think that money actually went to study cats?!   SMH!
    • Grand Saline is not Newton. A loss will only extend historical outcomes.
    • Calpreps has LP (61%) by 7. Massey has BH (61%) by 5. One of them will be wrong. At this point, all teams left are solid teams. LP and BH know each other from being district mates the past 2 years. But, this is a different LP team. I haven’t seen an LP team with this much offensive firepower since the late 70’s. Even with teams stacking nine—like Austin Anderson last week and Angleton (who has a very solid D)—LP is still rushing for over 500 & 400 yards respectively. They’re averaging right at 10 ypc. So—as I told some Anderson folks who thought they just had to ‘slow’ LP down to win—this isn’t a typical ‘3 yards & cloud of dust’ LP team. Meanwhile, the D has been very good at containing the opponent’s big weapons. Again, they held a high flying Anderson squad to their 2nd lowest point total of the season. That includes Anderson’s losses to AMC, CS, and Weiss. Typically, I’d say this game will be close. This time, I have to say, unless LP shoots themselves in the foot, I don’t see this one being as close as the last two between these teams. That being said, LP had 3 TD’s called back, 1 blocked FG, and 2 TO’s in the first half last week. One of the TO’s was a touchback from the 1. They still scored 42 with an explosion in the 4th quarter. But, they were also sloppy against Angleton after getting a big lead, and almost lost that game as well. They had to score a late TD to break the tie. So, I’m a little concerned about their mistakes. Soon, a team will make them pay. No matter their talent. Hopefully, the game will be streamed.
