I am able to write stuff off that is not included in the standard deduction. The increase in the standard deduction has made it unnecessary for me to itemize... I come out worse without those other itemized deductions. I still pay less than I should, IMO. As do all of y'all. Quote

Do away with the Energy Department. Waste of money. And eventually do away with the Education Department. Remember, every State has one. No need for a federal one. Eliminate taxes on tips and Social Security. Trump's first term he demanded for every one regulation that 2 were cut. It's my understanding now that he'll require 4 cut for every one regulation. Okay... and how do you propose that we offset the loss of tax revenue from taxes on tips, SS, overtime, etc? You have a lot of noble ideas, but no solutions. Quote

Truth is stranger than fiction What's your point? Jesus was the first Savior convicted and sentenced to death. Not saying Trump is the Savior or Jesus, just making the analogy that persecution for political and religious reasons has not always gone well for the persecutors ... Not only did he win the electoral college, but the popular vote too! baddog 1 Quote

Heck, I think eliminating the Energy Department would save 52 Billion dollars. Good start! Quote
Reagan Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 This is one reason for Trump's massive win. He'll clear all of this mental illness out! DEI is history! 5GallonBucket 1 Quote

Out of likes……hopefully they realize that the people representing are not the ones in power. Liberalism had something to do with the huge loss, but anti-Trump is certainly no platform. Having an inkling of an idea of what you are going to do goes a long way. For the future of republicans, Vance/Desantis would be an attractive ticket, but that’s just me. Quote

But it's a pendulum.... the Ds will win in 4 years, eight tops. Quote
CardinalBacker Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 4 minutes ago, Reagan said: My advise -- he should lawyer up! No.... part of the reason that the Ds lost is their persecution of Trump, IMO... If the Rs start persecuting Ds, they'll lose whatever momentum that was gained yesterday. That's not why we send people to Washington, and the voters took care of things yesterday. There's no need for continuous hearings, investigations, impeachments, etc.... it's time to go to work, not settle scores. Quote

bullets13 Posted November 6 Report Posted November 6 Democrats have got to fix something pretty quick, because it played a big part of this election: there's this air of superiority coming from the left, and it stinks. EVERY SINGLE EDITORIAL I've read today focuses at least in part on the idea or assertion that everyone who voted for Trump is dumb, or was tricked, or is naive. Either that, or we're racists, or facists, or any other number of unflattering descriptors. Screw that. The left better figure out real quick that they've got to make some major changes in policy. Doing whatever they want, making the American people suffer through it, and then telling us we're in fact doing great, and bad people if we don't like it isn't going to cut it anymore. People who don't want men in women's sports and locker rooms aren't bigots. People who don't want an unchecked flow of illegal aliens coming across the border are not racists. And people who believe that the economy and inflation aren't getting better because they're poorer than they've ever been (even while making more money) are not stupid. A whole lot of Trump's baggage is real, yet more than half of the country chose him over what the left was offering. If that doesn't send a message, I don't know what does. I've been very honest on here about how I feel about Trump. I can't stand him, and yet I voted for him. Millions, probably tens of millions of people who can't stand him voted for him. African Americans voted for him at a record rate. Hispanics voted for him at a record rate. Explain that. Democrats better realize quick that they AREN'T better than the rest of us. Half their voting base can't change a tire, yet the right is constantly portrayed as uneducated and dumb. The left better lose the superiority complex and regain some of it's sense. If they don't start making some reasonable legislative decisions that appeal to the vast majority of it's voting base, then there are going to be a lot more issues for them.
