I dont believe he'll be back this season

Did pine tree ever make to round 3 ? Nederland played them in round 2 a few years ago and Nederland won and I wanna say that was their first time winning a playoff game in a very long time and getting to round 2

The passing offense has been absolutely dreadful lately with too many turnovers, bad QB play, and the OL got absolutely manhandled by Huffman.

Running game has been BCs strength all season. If their offense can get Sumrall rolling early, I can see the defense creating a couple turnovers to make this game close.

I have a feeling the offense will continue to struggle to generate points and rely too much on the passing game. Defense should be capable of keeping it within 2-3 scores.

Overly Optimistic: BC wins a close thriller

Realistically: Pine Tree wins by 2-3 scores

If BC's defense can stop the run, PT's offense struggles throwing the football. They are a downhill running team, with the play action deep ball over the top. Now their WRs can Fly, its just whether or not the Back up can distribute the ball.

BC has trouble stopping the run against similar sized opponents. I believe even Livingston(0-10) rushed for over 200 on them

If they can stop their rushing attack they will have success. Defensively they have the second best defense in D9. It will be hard to score.

Livingston, Huffman, HJ, and LCM all had good games on the ground vs BC. I worry about the run defense considering Pine Tree is run heavy and will be leaning on the run if their starting QB is truly out. While they do struggle against the run, BC is still scrappy on defense overall. If Pine Tree becomes 1 dimensional on offense, I think BC will be able to adjust. I am hoping they can force a couple turnovers. Regardless, they have to have a good game offensively. It will be a long night if they can't capitalize on their possessions/takeaways.

It seems like everyone on these forums is down on D10. LCM, BC, and Hargraves all have very good looking kids and decent records. What do yall know that I don't?

East Texas football... 9-4A is a completely different animal.  9-4A has kids go to Alabama, UT, and other big D1 schools.  10-4A has kids go to Juco.

Strength of schedule. 1 of 3 played pre district teams of substance. 2nd place team was forced to drop a quality opponent due to the volume of opted up teams. BC wouldn't even be in this conversation if they did not opt up seeking weaker opponents and a playoff birth.

BC scheduled 3 3A teams pre-district, and only one of them was even good for 3A.  HH's pre-district was slightly better, but still against very weak 4A schools.  LCM actually scheduled a decent pre-district schedule, and didn't look terrible.  Weather helped them keep it close against HF, and the silsbee result was respectable as well. Vidor hasn't won a game against a team with more than 3 wins.  Realistically, I think HH and LCM have pretty good teams.  BC is decent.  But when you have a district where all the quality wins on the year are against each other, and nobody is really THAT good to begin with, it's hard to be optimistic with the matchups coming out of east texas.

For me personally, I follow y'all's district with quite a bit of interest, so I'm well-versed in the difference between the two groups.  I went to college in Marshall, still hunt outside Jefferson (Avinger), and my college roommates both graduated from Pine Tree.  So i always keep up with East Texas football in all divisions.

yeah, that doesn't bode well when you consider the jump in size/ability that they'll be facing in PT.

    • Either way,one game lead in the series. I rely to much on word of mouth
    • West Orange Stark has been a powerhouse since I csn remember. At some point, your bound to fall off to some degree. Alabama has 3 or 4 loses this season. Who would have thought? Has Orange lost kids to LCM or even Orangefield?
    • Interesting matchup this Friday. Both teams have very good offensive and defensive lines, which will make this game interesting. Having watched Texas High all season, they have a wide open offense with very good skill players. If you look at their stats they run the ball 57% of the time and pass 43% of the time. Personally, that is a bit deceiving, as most of their games have seen reserves running the ball in the 4th quarter. I would estimate the primary offense is 50/50. Through 12 games they have run for 3,224 yds (48tds) and passed for 2,894 yds (32 yds). Potter, the Tiger QB, has been very efficient with a 69% completion rate and 1 interception (which came from a tipped pass). The passing is distributed primarily to 4 receivers…. Ball (865), Wrightner (811), Montgomery (532), & Pilgreen (392). The rushing comes from 3 running backs … Johnson (1,432), Ball (768) & Moore (716).  The Tiger defense is solid and very quick.    Hope #15 is healthy enough to play. He is a test for any defense. I was concerned about the Nederland RB, but felt Texas High did a good job containing him. I wish this game was in the afternoon, as Nachitoches is having their Festival of Lights and their will not be any rooms in the inns and restaurants will be full so plan accordingly. PNG are state champions until someone knocks them off, so I extend the Indians the respect they deserve. Pulling for the Tigers.
    • The baseball coach has a ton of experience at high school and college level and hasn’t done anything for I think around 7 years now,it’s just something that the higher ups live with. And there has been talent come through that he hasn’t done anything with!
    • If I had to point out one team that has impressed me the most; Barbers Hill
