This will be pretty bad for the Pirates I fear…

yeah, BIG RED is pretty serious. To some this don't matter to others it shows they are pretty capable.

that being they are the reason for the lone "L" on Carthage U's win loss record. 1st game of the season so maybe a fluke(I doubt it) I'm just saying....

Uhhh ima go with a running clock in the second half…

I fear this will be a shellacking.
56-14 Kilgore because they call the dogs off and a running second half clock

*always hopeful for an upset but dont think its happening this week😂

I wouldn't call this game just yet, Vidor has had some injuries that have held them back. Plus this style of offense can give teams that aren't used to seeing it trouble.

nah, it shouldn't be close.  they had the benefit of finishing the season against the four worst teams in what was already a bad district and finishing 5-5, making that season look better than it was.  they went 0-5 against teams with a winning record, and only one of those games was competitive. the combined record of the teams that beat them: 41-9.  The combined record of the teams they beat: 8-42.  And it's worth nothing that 6 of those wins came from head to head matchups in district where somebody had to win.  They may have a little confidence coming into the game on a 4-game win streak, but I don't think those last four opponents did them any favors in preparing them for what they're about to face.

Not to sound rude… but Vidor could be 100% healthy and it still wouldn’t matter… Kilgore takes it first step towards my prediction of a Kilgore vs Celina state championship game.

my friend do you know Kilgore runs the ball about 80 % of the time? point being their defense is well versed in stopping run type offenses.

they practice daily against the run.

I’m guessing they practice during the week against whatever offense they will see on Friday night…. The issue, as always, is having JV or backups that are proficient enough to give the varsity guys a decent look in practice

sadly, Vidor just isn't proficient enough to beat Kilgore regardless what type of offense or defense either team uses.

Totally agree…there are some games when schemes just do not matter… this is one of those games

We don’t see many slot-tee offenses…. Fortunately we did face one last week… albeit not a very good one.

Carthage QB got injured pregame.

I don’t think a sprained ankle was the root cause of him throwing 5 INT’s in that game, considering he threw 4 against us the previous year when perfectly healthy. But whatever.

Those are valid points

Probably enough to be the difference in the score.  Saw a photo of that foot and it was a bad swollen mess.
