my friend do you know Kilgore runs the ball about 80 % of the time? point being their defense is well versed in stopping run type offenses.

This year is Kilgore team looks and plays ALOT different. Longview news paper has them passing for 2400 Passing yards and right at 1200 Rushing yards. From what I've read they have had a lot more success throwing the ball. Regardless, Slot T is a lot harder to stop when you haven't seen it. Not to mention Vidor has put up 61, 55, 57 in the last three games.

While it is true the Slot T can be difficult to defend if you don’t see it much… That point doesn’t matter when facing a team with drastically better athleticism and football skill…

as I said above there times when a team is not pro efficient enough  to win a game regardless of  what schemes are used.. as far as their(vidor) last 3 games go they were all vs bottom of the well dwellers.

I don’t think a sprained ankle was the root cause of him throwing 5 INT’s in that game, considering he threw 4 against us the previous year when perfectly healthy. But whatever.

You ever tried to push off with a black and blue ankle? I know how sensitive y’all been as far as that game went. Congrats though on beating Carthage.

Carthage was missing 4 starter and the QB angle was swollen the size of a grapefruit. Yes it made a big deference.
since that game 7 of 10 opponents have been held by the starting defense to minus rushing yards until backups come in the 3rd quarter. The offense since that first game has scored 42 per game by half time.

I predict Kilgore plays Celina for the state championship

They played a Slot-T team two weeks ago.  and those point totals are meaningless considering the opponents.

Slot-T only works against weaker teams, Good coaches know how to stop it. Awful offense

Damn Bellville must’ve played weak teams there entire way to the state championship last year… It works just as well as any offense if you have the right personnel

I'm going to qualify this a bit: a slot-t run with average athletes and execution is difficult for weak teams to stop, but not good teams and coaches.  But a slot-t with stud athletes that's run well causes issues for anybody, and there a few teams in the state that prove that pretty much year in and year out.  all in all i don't love it, but it can certainly be run successfully with the right group of athletes.

No one likes it, loves it, or wants to play against it... Forces teams to be physical, out of position, and to trust the preparation.  No D-lineman wants to have to tackle RBs for 30, 40+ plays a game... they want to be rushing QBs.  No DB wants to come up and play the run... they want to be out in coverage.

Lot of truth I think in this statement. Most offenses that have studs are gonna be difficult to stop no matter what their schemes are. The slot T, I believe, does have certain keys that can be read.  However, if they waggle out of it, that can make it much tougher, I’m guessing.  Defensively, teams that have poor eye discipline (looking in backfield instead of reading keys) and run fits, are probably gonna be exposed somewhat, even with good athletes. Well disciplined defensive teams could make it a struggle offensively if ability levels are somewhat equal

I wouldn't call this game just yet, Vidor has had some injuries that have held them back. Plus this style of offense can give teams that aren't used to seeing it trouble.

Young lady, not to be rude, but, how many moons are in your world?

Vidor has a better chance of being voted most desirable city in the US than their team winning this game. I'll be rooting for them, but I'm not expecting anything in return...

For reasons like this. Go back to 3 playoff teams and give kilgore the bye.

Kilgore has the best Defense in 4A DI.
The front seven can stop the run and make life miserable for QB. The secondary has two DI corners (brothers)
