Really? I rememeber we had about a dozen Bibles in the school library. No one was ever forced to check them out. Some did reference them for historical accounts. Point is, some people just are unnerved by a Bible, even if its just sitting there gathering dust. I pity those who are.

Above I posted an article that contains exactly the sort of thing the right has to avoid while they have a mandate. Republicans have a chance to make massive changes in areas like foreign trade, the border, crime reform, the economy, and even to some degree social issues like men in women's sports/locker rooms.  but if the right makes the mistake of overstepping and forcing ultra-conservative requirements on everyone they'll lose the house AND the senate at the midterm.  One only has to look at the 94 Republican mandate with Gingrich's "Contract With America."  Republicans took over the house and senate, and already had the oval office.  Republicans mistook this for unfettered support when in fact the country was just "firing the democrats."  Republicans went crazy with ultra-conservative policy, and two years later Bill Clinton was elected and republicans had substantial losses in the house and senate.  Implement strong conservative policies in the areas that the country has told you are important to them, and where you'll get support.  Don't make the mistake of trying to force conservatism in all areas onto the country.  Our country as a whole is way less conservative than it was in 1996 when the country terminated the republican mandate.  

Bullets, I’ve had some time to think this over and you are probably right about the backlash in this day and age. I still don’t believe having access to a Bible is forcing anything. Our kids are indoctrinated without their knowledge and some schools have tried to force the CRT agenda and sexually explicit books, so I can’t see the harm in letting them be exposed to the teachings of Christ, which to sum up is about love for one another and accepting Jesus as your Lord and  Savior. Christianity is the backbone on which this country was created and what has contributed to making it the best country the world has ever seen. I know I will get some backlash on here but what else can I expect?

Trump has other issues to deal with first, but America has gotten away from God. The left seems to hate Christians so it is no surprise there will be consequences for Trump’s idea……legally and spiritually. I make no claims to be better than anyone. I am certainly a sinner, but if there is no spiritual guidance in a person’s life, they will have no respect for others and certainly no conscience to help them along. Hopefully we haven’t reached an impasse.

sometimes it's worth weighing the cost vs. what you're actually accomplishing.  i hope the right fixes what they were elected to fix.

Trump has 90 something federal, civil charges, been convicted,  insulted everyone in some way, from dems, Puerto Ricans, women, disabled, the list goes on. And still won by a landslide. This one issue won’t break him.
