Texarkana Texas (56) vs Nederland (14) - FINAL

Not the game I expected as a Tiger fan. There was great respect for District 8 and its top 5 teams coming from Texas High. Not surprised we have a lead, but how the Tiger defense has contained the Bulldog running game.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, a neutral coach witnessing Texas High for the first time stated “Texas High has athletes all over the field”.

We will see if Nederland can throw the ball. The clock is not their friend running the ball. Thomas is a talented back.

Not to sound like a complete homer but I see Texas High in the state title game… one of the fastest team I ever seen. Faster than those Fort Bend Marshall teams…

Those La Marque teams were no joke either and neither was that Duncanville team i stayed and watched after the PN-G state championship game either

There is no doubt that Texas High is very talented, but 42-7 at the half is simply put horrendous defense. Nederland had a chance to go as 1 seed but choked it up in the last minute vs Montgomery I think if I were Coach Rich after seeing this defense the past 3 weeks, I would be looking to replace several defensive coaches. They have zero pressure on the QB, can’t cover anyone and can’t tackle. I mean what is left to do on defense

We might go 3-1 from 8-5A, that's about it. This THS team is no joke. Thomas hasn't been able to bust one out yet and probably won't. Looks like it'll be a PNG/THS matchup round three.

At half, the #1 & #2 teams from both districts are winning. Marshall is a talented team that is extremely underrated.
