Huntsville gets to go first to try and knock off SOC.  I’m sure Marshall, Texarkana, and Port Neches will all be rooting for Huntsville.

Speed for speed Huntsville can match them. They run a lot for now, if they had their regular QB it would be a match for sure. But this current QB can run, juke and throw dimes so SOC best not sleep.

Huntsville defense could win this game.  This maybe the premiere match-up in 5A Division 2 playoffs this week. Both coaches will be ready to go after the victory.

SOC will be the favorite, but I think Huntsville will stay with them.  The Hornets have a chance to win if they don’t beat themselves.

Huntsville is better than SOC at the skill spots...there's 3 big questions for them in this game

1) Can they at least match SOC's phsyicality up front on both sides of the ball? SOC is elite in the trenches this year

2) How does the freshman QB handle this moment against the best defense he's seen to date?

3) Can Huntsville play clean and not have self-inflicted wounds?

I will say that the Fr. QB has done a good job in his 3 starts of decision making and taking care of the ball.  We’ll see how this one goes.  Pretty much jumping to the Final exam after 3 pop quiz’s.

I'd like to see that as well.  Re the freshman QB, there're some similarities to last year's PNG team after Adams went down and the freshman QB came in.  The team rallied around him and the very next game they shut out FBM 7-0.

Huntsville has scored 44,42, and 45 points in his 3 starts.  So, no drop off.  The team is definitely behind him.  The Hornets just need to play a clean game without turnovers and 15 yarders.

a couple of bad teams and Nederland, who's defense gave up tons of points at the end of the year.  He's yet to see a real defensive line, and this might be the realest one in the state.  Again, rooting for his success, but not expecting it.

PNG qb is a current junior… he came in as a sophomore not freshman.

You're right, thanks!  And btw, I knew that, I just got a little confused, and maybe caught up in the moment I guess.  I'm pulling for Huntsville already, but would really absolutely LOVE to see SOC get beat by the freshman QB.

Loaded… sad thang is say PNG wins state 90 miles from Houston…. But coming from region 2 so DFW the media would spin it that way.
