Silsbee vs Waco La Vega Predictions

I’ll have to admit that I thought Friday's game against Bellville would have ended Silsbee season. The kids and coaches did a tremendous job on winning that game. The team is young and hopefully has hit a stride. Silsbee has La Vega this upcoming Friday which is a very athletic team.  I just hope the kids don't let the win over Bellville make it their Super-bowl. There is a-lot of football left and id like to see them play to the end!!! Go Tigers!!!

  • Tiger33 changed the title to Silsbee vs. Waco La Vega Regional

beating Bellville gave our kids the ultimate confidence, Waco don't stand a chance, if you want to have a chance of beating us you better throw for 500 yards because we stop the run this year and i heard from potna of mine  from wos , they ran it down they throats. well, we invite that run   silsbee 28- waco 17

Pulling for the Tigers… But I think La Vega’s speed is gonna cause some issues for this tigers team…I was wrong last week and hope I am again…

Same speed WOS used to shutout Silsbee. But the conspiracy theory says it should've been much closer that night. Tigers path seems much easier as 3rd place team. Hmmmm?

Silsbee will not tank against WO-S. Just won't happen. Mustangs were just that much better than Silsbee.

Besides, #3 seed basically has to play the same teams as #2 seed other than first round. From what I saw with Sweeny and Brookshire, BR was the better team than Sweeny.

I was hoping WOS was going to win. To get another chance to redeem ourself. Silsbee did not look good in that game and has not played consistent during the season. Hopefully against La Vega they will play 4quarters of football

Same here. Silsbee is undefeated vs. WO-S in the playoffs.

Silsbee can beat them. Stop #0 and control the pass and they have a real shot. The LV defense isn't great. WOS went backwards from mid-season until Friday. We don't improve and are really not very good. We were better earlier in the season. LV is beatable.

La Vega has alot more speed than Belleville. Tigers better contain the outside. I got faith.

Watching video on La vega, and  they are big up front and have a fast running back. My opinion we should stop the run and force them to throw the ball. Also Silsbee run game has not been great la vega runs a 4-3 and is aggressive. I would just focus on throwing the ball.

    • I too, wish #15 was healthy and playing.  And also another RB (can't recall the #), who went down in the first game of the season. But, some others have stepped up and are hard runners.  I'm really looking forward to watching this game.
    • Still, from what little I saw, it should have been a much closer game.  WOS was missing some fundamentals on defense, and a lack of imaginative play calling on offense.  Just my opinion as an objective observer on Texan Live, which was horrible btw, but that's another story.
    • Either way,one game lead in the series. I rely to much on word of mouth
    • West Orange Stark has been a powerhouse since I csn remember. At some point, your bound to fall off to some degree. Alabama has 3 or 4 loses this season. Who would have thought? Has Orange lost kids to LCM or even Orangefield?
    • Interesting matchup this Friday. Both teams have very good offensive and defensive lines, which will make this game interesting. Having watched Texas High all season, they have a wide open offense with very good skill players. If you look at their stats they run the ball 57% of the time and pass 43% of the time. Personally, that is a bit deceiving, as most of their games have seen reserves running the ball in the 4th quarter. I would estimate the primary offense is 50/50. Through 12 games they have run for 3,224 yds (48tds) and passed for 2,894 yds (32 yds). Potter, the Tiger QB, has been very efficient with a 69% completion rate and 1 interception (which came from a tipped pass). The passing is distributed primarily to 4 receivers…. Ball (865), Wrightner (811), Montgomery (532), & Pilgreen (392). The rushing comes from 3 running backs … Johnson (1,432), Ball (768) & Moore (716).  The Tiger defense is solid and very quick.    Hope #15 is healthy enough to play. He is a test for any defense. I was concerned about the Nederland RB, but felt Texas High did a good job containing him. I wish this game was in the afternoon, as Nachitoches is having their Festival of Lights and their will not be any rooms in the inns and restaurants will be full so plan accordingly. PNG are state champions until someone knocks them off, so I extend the Indians the respect they deserve. Pulling for the Tigers.
