purple reign Posted November 27, 2024 Report Posted November 27, 2024 Think back to 2015. Angleton sneaked into the playoffs with a record of 5-5 and had beat Texas City in bidistrict by 7, then in the area round had beat Port-Neches Groves by 18 and was facing a favored College Station team in the 3rd round at Woodforest Bank Stadium and beat CS by a score of 38-22. Friday, they return to the scene of the crime,Woodforest, in the 3rd round as before and again CS is favored. Angleton will hope that lightening strikes twice in the same place. They do have a common opponent, Weiss which Angleton beat by 7 and CS beat by 6 although Angleton was playing them at home and CS on the road. Quote

OlDawg Posted November 28, 2024 Report Posted November 28, 2024 I like Angleton’s D against this style O. Just not sure—if it comes down to a scoring contest—the Cats can put enough points up. Run that T more often & should have success against CS D. Y’all do that, play clean, and burn some clock, I can see an Angleton win by 7 or less. (The other unknown for y’all & LP is how much the rival College Station schools are looking ahead to a possible rematch. From what I’ve seen, the fans already expect it.) Quote
purple reign Posted November 28, 2024 Author Report Posted November 28, 2024 Angleton fans are going all out in support. There is a tailgate in the early afternoon Friday at a local car dealership, followed by a send-off parade. College Station has only had 3 turnovers all season but Angleton has 26 takeaways so something has to give. Quote
