BleedBlackandGold Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 Why are so many saying the Alamodome? That’s a 4 hr drive for both teams. When you could meet in the middle and be around a 2-2.5 hr drive. Quote

Matthew328 Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 28 minutes ago, Rez said: TD’s whole message this season is a willingness to play anywhere. NRG would be fine for both. Alamodome too. Why not just play on Saturday? Don't think either Coach wants Saturday since the state game is Friday night... Rez 1 Quote
Mr. Buddy Garrity Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 Play in Port Arthur. 😁 Rez, prepballfan, CS. and 3 others 6 Quote

Rob Corpus Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 2 hours ago, Matthew328 said: Part of the issue here is both teams want to play Friday and there's a lack of sizeable neutral venues available Friday night...NRG is available Saturday but not Friday...I know Prairie View has been discussed (seats 15k) with another 2-3k SRO but PV is dragging their feet...(why I dont know it'd be a big crowd for them)....SFA has been discussed as well, but not sure how interested in hosting SFA is....I dont think SOC is against a larger stadium because Coach Todd called me this afternoon and asked for the contact at NRG Stadium...the issue is NRG won't host Friday.. I looked on the NRG site and I see 2 games @ 2pm and 6pm on Saturday, but nothing for Friday night. Is the issue NRG officials do not want to schedule anything for Friday? Quote

They rather have the attention over there plus since SHSU is now a Division 1 school in NCAA (C-USA is their conference now) they feel like either they can rebuild the stadium or make a new one. It's been a lot of land cleaning out that way so I will expect a new stadium in Huntsville soon. Thanks for info, interesting stuff! I do hope Sam Houston can get a brand new stadium since they are D1 now… old stadium was great for the southland confrence now not so much… Quote
navydawg31 Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 PNG in a good spot 4 hours to Alamodome, 4 hours to the Superdome in NOLA, PNG take over on bourbon street! 😂😂 CS. 1 Quote
BigRed5 Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 SFA would be a good location. It's roughly two and a half hours for both schools. Reagan 1 Quote

OlDawg Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 NRG would be full all day Saturday if y’all wind up with the early game. With y’all’s crowd, LP & Angleton bring good crowds, then Iowa Colony & Randle. Good day of football with different division schools represented. Not a big fan of NRG. But, I have to watch on NFHS anyway as that stadium/parking/restroom situation is very unfriendly for a person with very limited mobility and a large crowd. Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted December 1 Report Posted December 1 Rice or U of H could be considered. SFA seems the most likely. If it's a high school venue, Woodforest, Cypress or Katy. Quote
