While the most disrespected district in 5AD1 is playing the rematch of their district championship game anyone got any info on this one yet?

If you’re asking about more than just the schedule of the rematch—which as Aggie said is up top—I’ll add some more tidbits later on. Purple Reign can add more details about Angleton that he’s more familiar with than me. Really some interesting connections & past histories for both of these clubs.

As a tidbit right now—as it relates to a form of your ‘disrespect’ comment—District 3 is generally accepted as the toughest 5A-1 district in the state. They have a Regional Final/State Quarterfinal rematch between their top 2 teams (Denton Ryan & Aledo).

The only other 5A-D1 district with a Regional Final/State Quarterfinal between the top 2 teams in the district?

11-5A-1. La Porte and Angleton.

Both 3-5A & 11-5A have eliminated competition from 2 other districts. La Porte and Angleton eliminated all four PO teams from 12-5A-D1 whom a lot of experts thought was the next toughest district in 5A-D1 behind 3-5A.

The only other ‘Big School’ district that can top this? 23-6A, where all 4 PO teams will replay each other again, and is generally considered to be the toughest district in the state.

Most Disrespected District????? Angleton and LP are obviously great! rest of the district was sub 500.

Less to do with these two more to do with the trash talk by fans of that Bryan district and of our friendly neighborhood district that both just got knocked out the playoffs by these two.

Back to the Game at hand. You think the Angleton kids are excited about getting another chance to tackle the LP Backs?

I’m sure they’re excited.

Angleton’s 425 is great against most teams today. Not the best against LP. I see Angleton having to run blitz almost all game long to slow down LP. If they do, and they miss, uh-oh. I see neither team changing what they do at the core. But, I see a few new wrinkles from both. LP will probably use more quick outs, tosses, reverses to loosen up the middle. I see them lining up Barnes & Sandolph as receivers with Simon as a deep back where he can have time to find a hole. For Angleton, I see them going for almost every 4th down, and attempting more long balls. High risk. High reward.

Of course, what do I know?

In the end, whichever team runs the ball the best with the fewest mistakes wins.
