That field goal Laporte should have taken came back to bite them

Naw. They didn’t play well enough to win. It was Angleton’s day today.

If there’s any question about going for it on that play, my question would be ‘why the toss’ when you need less than a yard.

Still. I think Angleton would have found a way to win & they deserved it. Overall, they played better.

Once again Angleton found a way to win. Congratulations to both these teams from 11-5A1 for going farther than most people thought.

Just don’t have a hangover from this game next week. SV looks like they’re on fire.

Keep representing 11-5A1!

Several good teams were eliminated yesterday and today.  Congrats to LaPorte for a great season and good run in the playoffs.

And especially congrats to Angleton! (I failed to add earlier)

In my opinion, Angleton deserved this win. They overcame some questionable calls by the refs and recovered a clear fumble that was not called.

I was at the game. It was rockin'. A great way to spend a Saturaday afternoon at NRG.

I agree on the bad calls. In the first half Angleton could not get a call go their way. Either a no-call on LP, or a weak call on Angleton, or, a fumble not awarded. The Angleton fans were booing loudly several times. To the refs credit they called a much better 2nd half.

Will be interesting to see SV against region III personnel this week. Last year they played in region III and rounds 2-4 were one score wins before blowing out CC Vets in the semis. Watching the games it looks like Angleton is the bigger and more athletic team but I think the question is if the defense is sound enough assignment-wise to stop SV from scheming guys wide open like they have been all year? Angleton had the same advantages against College Station and CS was still able to scheme up 34 points. SV is a little lighter in personnel than CS but I think they're scheme/play-calling might be a little better.
