Cougtalk Posted December 10 Report Posted December 10 According to our coaching staff that like to call out fans on X the reason Crosby is not successful for the past two years is because we are under resourced with too many expectations. Apparently winning seasons and beating 5a-d2 opponents that we have crushed previously and competing with the exact same schools we've been playing with for the last 5 years is too much and we give too little to the program. Coaching staffs note this is how you lose your fan base in a weekend this is the talk of the town, that next school board meeting is going to be lively. They've lost a lot of people, and they're not "good" with is which is why a coach responded to a post a parent(me) made which had nothing to do with them. Cougtalk 1 Quote

Coach P's post has almost 5k views so you know a bunch of other coaches around the state have seen it. Imagine being a 5A coach from some random area in the state and reading one of the reasons another 5A program is struggling is because "there were 11 players being recruited" on the team you've just been hired to coach? I'd imagine there's bunch of coaches around the state who read that and moved Crosby up their job list. Then you complain about resources when you're the 6th highest paid high school football coach in the 4th largest metro area in the country? This is what happens when you try to hire a name instead of hiring a coach who fits your personnel/community. Willis thinking Crosby High School was anything like Cedar Park or even Colleyville Heritage is all the more reason he should've never been hired in the first place. He's asking us to basically change our community to fit his style of coaching instead of adapting to what he has to work with like the previous guys. Quote

The coaches at Crosby are well respected in the coaching community. The forum peanut gallery, not so much. KF89 1 Quote

Who cares? The coaching communities opinions won't be what's heard at board meetings and won't be the ones applying pressure to the administration, at the end of the day if this continues he won't have a job no matter what the other coaches think of him. Being an AD in Texas is as much a political job as a football one. Winning cures all, excuses for losing does not. The disregard for the community and it's parents is appalling and any attempt to justify that is absurd even from someone who has as poor of takes as you do consistently. How coaches feel about another coach has hardly ever saved a coaches job and comments like this have upset people (that previously weren't upset.) It's funny because I'll get text about the program out of the blue and am pretty distanced from the program at this point and the stuff being said to parents is trashy. KF89 1 Quote

I would be shocked if the current HC would want to stick around much longer. I doubt he is worried about "saving his job". Quote

2wedge Posted December 11 Report Posted December 11 I honestly expected that he would've announced his retirement by now. Quote
Justafan72 Posted December 15 Report Posted December 15 His son will be a senior next year, which could be a determining factor in any decision he makes.Does he want to move his son and have him start over again. If he waits till his son graduates someone will inherit an awesome junior and senior class, unless they leave before then.
