Randle mismanaged their last drive. Soc mismanaged clock and special teams. Two great teams who did each other too many favors.

Those kickoff returns were knockout punches, especially the last one.

I think I've seen more kickoff returns this season than in the previous 2 or 3 seasons combined. Missed field goals too. Too bad for the SOC kicker, but you can't pin the whole loss on him. 

Anyway, I won't be surprised if both of these teams are back in the state game again next year.

The weekend has flown by, last 3 games of the txhsfb season today/tonight.

That's a tough kick for a HS kid in Week 1 in the 1st Qtr after a timeout

11am         5A DI          Highland Park vs. Smithson Valley

7pm           6A DI          North Crowley vs. Austin Westlake

Many of you likely know all these details and maybe more. Vadergift and Westlake, sit very close to that university in Austin and all will be playing today.  SMU qb is from SOC. QB for Clemson is from Westlake. Of course the Texas based universities will have rosters loaded with players that once played for Texas HS state titles and the others will have a few as well.  Many neat and actually impressive connections between Texas HS football and the CFP this weekend. 

Any other interesting facts/connections I missed?   

Wish the CFP started a week later so as not to conflict is the only downside to this.

It's very easy for me. Texas high school football state championships trumps college football. (particularly since my Aggies are not playing, lol)

Last night I tuned in for half a quarter of the Indy/ND game. Texas HS Football will always come first.

The Todd Dodge connection… his old QB Kade from Clemson playing against Dodge’s old college team The University of Texas… vs Todd Dodge’s son Riley Dodge old QB Quinn Ewers… that them 2 have played against each other before at the Texas High school Football state Championship game… Todd Dodge will be a busy man today.. lol

Almost no one was making that kick, especially outside a range he’s ever made.
