Barbers Hill Coach was making 175k. Surratt would be taking a pay cut going there unless they would top carthage. Also i feel like Carthage has better athletes than barbers hill

And plays in a much weaker division

I gotta say, I am shocked by this. You gotta think they've already got their guy in mind if they're squeezing Abseck to leave. I remember when Abseck was hired, they made a run at Todd Dodge. Curious if that is in the cards. Another name to consider, Jeff Joseph.

My sources are saying this was a very political move.

Supt was upset over his son's playing time.

Job has been offered to PN-G's Joseph and Vandegrift HC. Both have turned it down.

I felt like joseph was gonna be on that list more money but more of a headache

I trust your sources because I know you do not do rumors, but I am not seeing a Poole on the BH roster from last season.

This is WILD by the way. Were they shopping the job behind Abseck's back?

Sounds like a problem if true. May find it harder to lure big name like they seem to want to do with just throwing around $$$ if there’s an Admin issue.

That’s 2 name coaches in a fairly short span that thought it was a dream job to wind up not staying all that long.

Not a coach. But, if I was one, I might be a bit leery.

Bringing back Gages' run game and the striped uniforms ?

Wing T on deck for BH!!! May be the only thing those folks would run Poole out of town for.

I seriously doubt they thought it was a "dream job". TW wanted a paycheck, and he saw his Allen team was about to decline so he got out of there. Later, he did not leave BH on his own.

Regardless what any outsiders think, this job will attract many great candidates. I am excited to see what happens.

Westerberg didnt have Kyler but Allen was still unreal after he left...14-1, 16-0, 14-1 in Gambill's first three years....Westerberg definitely wanted the paycheck at BH, but Allen is such a meat grinder now...I think he was just tired of managing a job like that....last two BH coaches have departed under what most would say are less than amicable terms....very interesting situation...they'll still get a good coach because they do pay well, they do have good facilities and a good set up..but a lot of candidates will be turned off also

Yes  it will attract coaches but it will be the same outcome

That remains to be seen.

Has Silsbee won State lately?

Do we have to win state to contend with Barbers Hill? Id say we have had more playoff wins in the last 10 years compared to BH. The lack of athlete's is the problem not the two prior coaches.
