Silsbee extends their district win streak to 42 games.

Silsbee didn’t have anyone missing. BC came out and gave them everything they had, but just couldn’t finish. So far BC has been up on WOS by 15, up on Vidor by 14 and up on Silsbee by 8 and then 9 later in the game only to lose all 3. With only one senior playing heavy minutes and only one other senior on the roster they just have to learn how to close out these games. They’ll never get much love or respect since they are BC Basketball. But they’ll fight with everything they have and make you earn it. I’m very proud of this group of guys!

If you mean the Cards were playing pretty much up to their potential, even inspired I would say, and the Tigers were struggling then yeah, BC out played Silsbee.  But even though they struggled the Tigers came back from an 8 point deficit to win by 4.  The Cards were tenacious, nothing was easy for Silsbee.  

Maxpreps has the BC rooster messed up so I don't know his name, but the point guard, No. 5, is a gem!  If he's not there it's an easy 20 point win for Silsbee.  Almost single handedly he took the Tigers out of their comfort zone and forced extensive adjustments.  His cool move was to turn his back on the defender and give ground luling the defender to sleep and then turn and rapidly accelerate past.  Sweet.

Silsbee was missing a starter Johnson..! He will be back in a few days.

He hasn’t started or played a game the whole season. So therefore they weren’t missing anyone they’ve played with up until this point.

Correct. Silsbee was not missing anyone that has played this season.

Silsbee fans need to get used to the Tigers not routinely blowing out their district opponents. This Silsbee team is simply not as good as the teams of the past 15 years and there's nothing wrong with that. They are still a very good team.

This team is still very capable of winning all their district games no matter if it's by 1 or by 50. That's all that matters.

Just be happy with the fact that this team is continuing the district win streak and has a good shot at a deep playoff run.

The Tigers don't have to win every game by 30 or it's considered a loss. Geeez

Nope he has started every game this year as a starter. And is still out for now. That's wy I" ask if he played last night. Didn't mean anything about my first post I" was just saying we are still missing Johnson that's all. And another starter if Cardinalli didn't play. I" know Silsbee is down this year.

I predicted this team to advance 3 or 4 rounds deep. Region III looks pretty stacked having 5 or 6 ranked teams. Haven't seen Yates or Washington this year but they are ranked in the top 5.

Silsbee won't see Yates, Washington, Stafford or Huffman in the playoffs. All will go DI.

Silsbee will go DII. Wheatley will be their main opposition. But Silsbee will need to worry about all opponents.

I think it’s because everyone expects Silsbee to play like they are ready to win state it’s like people saying if they do win a title in football then we always have basketball all the 80 to over 100 points games have become a staple in Silsbee it’s been hard to watch the tigers struggle but if they keep working hard they could get to state in Division 2.

Has Johnson even played a game for Silsbee yet? Didn't he transfer from Beaumont and couldn't play because of the transfer rule? How does anyone know he'll be a starter?

Yes, he transferred from West Brook. Had to play JV last year do to transfer rule.

He may not start immediately because being out with injury, but he will eventually start.

Before his injury in last playoff football game, he was expected to be one of Silsbee's starting five. That came from the coaching staff.

He proved himself during JV play last year. Lot's of coaches in district said he was the best JV player in the district last year.

He will make a significant difference when he returns.

He played last year for Silsbee in the playoffs, albeit not as much as he wanted. I know he played in the Booker T game. He got mixed up in a little trouble last year, which is why his season was delayed. Year before that is when he had to play JV because of transfer rules.

He'll definitely help, although Silsbee will still be pretty down compared to last season. That's just the reality Tiger fans will have to learn to accept. You don't just lose a Harris/Miller/Bottley and keep things rolling like nothing has changed.

At least not at the 4A and down level.

You are correct. He missed due to discipline. Year before was when he played JV.

Yes last year on varsity in the playoffs.

Johnson is around 6'2 180lbs. Long wing span and has a nice shot. He playd great defense for Silsbee in playoffs last season. He will have an impact when he gets in basketball shape for sure.

A couple things here although i havent got go to as many games as in the past the last couple years i have seen a couple things i can elaborate on here. 1. Johnson played in at least one regular season varsity game last year prior to his uh…troubles and 2. Cardinalli hasnt startec all games this year prior to this game as the last game i attended the starting 5 were Rice, Boulwen, Jones, Arline and Shoulders.
