What I’ve noticed from the dozen or so games I’ve watched this year HS is starting to play like AAU, no defense. My observation from just a casual basketball fan.

Then you obviously have not seen Port Arthur Memorial, Nederland, North Shore, United and a few others.

I’ve watched PAM and they do have a defense

Basketball has the D1 and D2 format for playoffs, mirroring football starting this year. How does that shake out for 19-5A district as of today?

West Brook and United go DI

Nederland, PAM and BH would go DII, whichever of the three make playoffs.

Baytown Sterling could put a wrench in it if they were to somehow make playoffs. They are the 2nd largest enrollment behind West Brook.

Enrollment size goes as follows;

West Brook

Sterling

United

PA Memorial

Barbers Hill

Lee

PN-G

Nederland

I think if the Beaumont schools make it, then they’ll be d-1.  Whoever the other 2 are will go D-2, I think…

Need to learn more about CC Veterans Memorial. They are the Region 4 team that Region 3 winner would play in the state semis. They are undefeated and number 1 in the tabc poll. Have beat some decent teams but play in a weak district based on my assumption (never heard of any dominant CC teams in boys basketball. Ever)

Veterans Memorial will definitely be Div. I. They are the largest school in their district.

You also cannot rule out #9 SA Wagner. They will be Div. 1 as well.

#11 SA Jay could go either way, DI or DII.

But there are plenty of Region III teams to worry about first.

In Reg 3 Division 1? Who would that be. I know for sure FB Marshall is going D2

I guess my point is, if Baytown Sterling can play Beaumont West Brook to a 5 point game, then there are other teams out there that could be a threat on any given night.

If the playoffs were a 3, 5 or 7 game series, then I wouldn't hesitate to make West Brook, United or PA Memorial heavy favorites. The better teams always wins a series. But when it comes to just a 1 gamer, lot's of things can happen.

Looking ahead to a state semifinal match up when you are not even halfway thru district play, is the epitome of looking too far ahead.

I’m not a member of the team nor a coach. I have leeway to look ahead ☎️

Will the Beaumont refs be officiating on Friday night at BU? @BMTSoulja1 I just wanna know if we're playing BU or BU+Refs. Always good to have that transparency going in, I know that's a legit struggle for you.

Maybe if you contact your WB contacts you’ll get the answer.

Titans?  That’s who you’re riding with?  I’m shocked…

The same way I'm shocked you chose to be around our campus to work instead of that dog poop on Fannett Road?

Make sure you don't disappear on Friday night this time, didn't hear from you after the first whoopin we gave yall.
