best district in texas 19-5 5a

before the season started i had 

1st wb 

2md bu

3rd pa

4th BH ..  and I had Nederland as a sleeper team but not a playoff team , is it any way Nederland finds a way to win  3 out of these last 5 games  and make the playoffs , I got them beating png and sterling . but the in  between games are BU on the road , BH on the road  and PA at home

I would not be shocked if Nederland beat PAM at home.

Also, I would pump the breaks a little on 19-5A being the best district in Texas. Might not even be the best 5A district.

I was at  game we played burleson centennial in tabc ( I know it don't count ),if they the second best team in that district  they will come in 5th place in this district we  lost on a buzzer beater without troy .but I agree Mansfield summit is legit

Centennial may not have had all their players as well.

Those summer games are a crap shoot when trying to compare to now.

Before the season started, I had it

 

1. Port Arthur

2. West Brook

3. United 

4. Barbers Hill

Lots have changed since then.  But after seeing all of these teams, too top to bottom, no, this district is not the best in Texas.  Now top heavy?, IMO, yea.  I think PA and the Beaumont schools can play with a lot of those top ranked teams.  
 

But just overall, our top teams do need to correct quite a few things if they want to go far in the playoffs.

Nederland - Consistancy.  They do something that works then late in games, seems like they try different stuff.  
BU - eliminate silly turnovers and get creative on how to do post entry passes.

BH - Find a better way to play consistent defense.  Perimeter defense is suss.

WB - (YEOJ explained this perfectly in the WB/Nederland thread)

Port Arthur - consistent shooting and take more advantage of mismatches the whole game, not just in spurts.

I didn’t name the other teams because I don’t believe they’ll be in playoff discussions…

Are post entry passes even taught in practice anymore? Every NBA and college game I watch has perimeter guys struggling to get the ball down low to the bigs. I know modern offenses don't require a lot of post touches anymore but it still blows my mind how much that skill has gone away.
