If he's a sports reporter reporting news from sources that he trusts, I'm not really sure what the issue is.

I don’t think it’s accurate until you get both sides of a story. Have you spoke to the BH Supt.? I just find it odd that a coach would leave because a Supt. Is pressuring him to play his son. Seems like there could be more to it, but it easier just jumping on board with one side and running with it. If that is the sole reason then I agree with the masses that I hope Abseck lights us up this year for it on the field , but not 100% that he’s innocent.

2 sides to a story. I think it’s a journalist job to get it before reporting. It worked out for CNN though.

I did call the BH admin office and left a message but never got a call back, but lets keep in mind calling him is pointless because he's not going to discuss a personnel issue with a member of the media...fairly certain that's illegal.

And you are assuming I spoke to Abseck and he told me that information, which is actually not accurate, I spoke to a current BHISD employee that I trust and another BHISD employee that I dont know as well and got that same answer.

Coach Abseck's way too classy to tell me why he got let go other than "it was a mutal parting of ways" and that he was sad to go.

Accuracy is in the eyes of the reader so you dont have to believe its accurate, 100% your choice. 

What matters is if I believe its accurate, my track record stands on it's own merit and its a system i've used for nearly 20 years in the game, I went with it after getting confirmation from two different sources within the district.

No, I didn’t think it was Abseck. I assume that he’s a good man and coach.  Well if the rumor is true and the Supt did run him off for something as silly as not playing my son I hope the BH school board will take action. I personally like what the superintendent has done for BH , but you can’t be meddling with stuff like this.

not to mention other people from other places came to the same conclusion you did based on talking to other sources. you weren't the only place that this "rumor" originated from.

For the record, I think Barbers Hill made a solid hire, Coach Simper is a winner and should do very well

As the CEO of the ISD, he can. It just violates his ethics clause on multiple levels. As you say, it’s up to the Board to evaluate him. It’s up to the voters to evaluate the Board.

I believe he’s in his 18th year. This means he has around 1-1/2 years left on his contract. (Max allowable by Texas is a 5 year term length at a time.) He can be renewed another 5 or less, be terminated in around 1.5 with no consequences, or terminated early ‘for cause’ which would probably include a messy buyout.

I am one of those "other people". 

I spoke with my source at BHISD and got the same information.

So, there were multiple people in the room during the conversation between the supt and head coach? Just curious, because if nobody else was present and the Supt and head coach didn’t repeat the conversation, then someone secretly recorded the conversation. If none of that is applicable, then it’s a rumor. I don’t know either way, but “sources” is a lose word in my book unless I’m missing something.
