UIL and DEC decisions will be released tomorrow. I will post when released.

I am privy to the West Brook suspensions but will wait till it is released tomorrow.

I have reached out to Sterling and am waiting to hear on their suspensions.

This is what I know so far:

All but 4 West Brook players will be suspended for one game. The WB player that was actually in the fight will miss remainder of district play. The 4 players that were on the floor are eligible to play. They did not leave the bench area.

West Brook will have those 4 plus JV to play next game at PA Memorial Tuesday night.

No word of a forfeiture. DEC has yet to rule. 

I have reached out to my Sterling source to get their suspensions but it's probably going to be the same as WB. All that left bench misses next game and the 4 on the court can play with the one actually in the fight missing multiple games.

From the video, it was pretty mutual.

PAM has an easier game against WB giving them a path to 2nd in district. WB already has the district locked. The sucks for WB is that this all happened in the first place.

I don’t think it’s about wanting to “see kids fight” but more to see for themselves what started it and how bad things ended up.  I don’t think anyone wants to see it out of any kind of enjoyment, at least I hope not.

Beaumont Enterprise article on the fight listings consequences thus far.  I imagine the HCs are gonna have to answer to the UIL SEC over it and there may be consequences for one or both of them for not being able to control their benches.

What Goslin said.. when you hear conflicting stories on what really happened and transpired and the aftermath of it… I’m hearing BISD was calling around other districts about it.

Not sure why both Head Coaches aren’t suspended for a game. Ultimately the HC is responsible personal conduct for all its players and coaches…

DEC doesn’t have the power to do that, I don’t believe.  It has to go to the SEC for punishments for Coaches/Programs.  I’d expect, and this is just my guess after listening to prior hearings, that each HC might get a 1 game suspension/letter of reprimand over it for not being able to keep their bench from clearing out plus there’s also the possibility of a probation period for one or both of these programs and also for additional player suspension time added on by SEC.  We’ll have to wait and see but there’s definitely gonna be SEC meetings with each HC/District bigwigs over this.

I guess the bright side of all this is that with 5 RSS players out, maybe REL stands a chance of beating RSS tonight?  Glass half-full here!
