Crosby can clinch playoffs with a win

19-5A

West Brook can clinch district championship with a win

United, PA Memorial and Barbers Hill can all clinch playoffs with a win

18-4A

Silsbee can clinch district championship with a win

Bridge City can clinch playoffs with a win

21-3A

Central Heights can clinch district championship with a win

22-3A

Kountze can clinch district championship with a win

Orangefield can clinch playoffs with a win

24-2A

Shelbyville can clinch district championship with a win

Chireno can clinch playoffs with a win and a West Sabine loss

25-2A

Evadale can clinch district championship with a win and a West Hardin loss

Sabine Pass and West Hardin can clinch playoffs with a win or Danbury loss

28-1A

Brookeland can clinch district championship with a win

Chester can clinch playoffs with a win and a Leggett loss

After last nights games, we now have 29 teams that have clinched playoff spots. Also, 4 teams clinched district championships last night.

Here are the teams that clinched playoffs last night:

18-5A       Crosby

19-5A       Beaumont United, PA Memorial, Barbers Hill

18-4A      Bridge City

25-2A      Sabine Pass, West Hardin

 

These teams clinched district championship:

18-4A      Silsbee

22-3A      Kountze

24-2A      Shelbyville

28-1A      Brookeland

 

Here are the playoff and district championship clinching scenarios for Friday, Feb. 7:

23-6A     Atascocita can clinch district title with a win

18-5A     Pasadena and Dayton can clinch playoffs with a win

18-4A     Lumberton can clinch playoffs with a win or LC-M and WO-S loss

19-4A     Huffman can clinch district championship with a win; Livingston and Tarkington can clinch playoffs with a win and a Hardin-Jefferson loss

21-3A   Huntington can clinch playoffs with a win and a Diboll loss

22-3A   Buna and Orangefield can clinch playoffs with a win and an Anahuac loss

24-2A   Chireno clinches playoff with a win

Over this coming weekend I will break down each district playoff teams by division.

In the district standings thread pinned up top, you will see a DI or DII along with #1 or #2 beside the teams position in standings.

Some district playoff positions will come down to that last game on Tuesday, Feb. 11 (and maybe a couple beyond that date) but I will put what division each potential playoff team will participate in.

I really wish UIL would have waited 2 years at next realignment to go the divisional route. Makes it much easier when you have divisional districts like football.

I agree 100%. I do think eventually that’s what you will have

Four more teams have clinched playoffs. Now have 33 of 44 playoff spots filled.

Here are the teams that clinched last night:

18-5A       Dayton, Pasadena

24-2A       Chireno

25-2A       Big Sandy

 

Also, four more teams clinched district championships. These are those teams:

23-6A      Atascocita

19-5A      Beaumont West Brook

19-4A      Huffman

25-2A      Evadale

 

These following districts have all their playoff spots filled:

18-5A    Crosby (DI #1), Kingwood Park (DII #1), Pasadena (DI #2), Dayton (DII #2)

19-5A    West Brook (DI #1), United (DI #2), PA Memorial (DII #1), Barbers Hill (DII #2)

25-2A    Evadale (DII #1), West Hardin (DI #1), Sabine Pass (DI #2), Big Sandy (DII #2)

These districts just have the final spot remaining:

23-6A, 18-4A, 21-3A, 24-2A and 28-1A

Multiple spots still remain for these districts:

19-4A, 22-3A and 23-3A
