I was going to make some guacamole for Super Bowl but now I’m gonna have to change my plans. I usually use about eight Haas avocados at about 89¢ each. It was going to cost $7.12 but now it would be $8.90!

 The Corona long necks will go up 34¢ each. I was only going to drink about four, but that’ll bring me between the guacamole and beer to $3 more out of my pocket so I can happily watch the Super Bowl.

OUTRAGEOUS!

Just think if I did that every weekend, I would lose $12 a month…..

Multiply that by tens of millions (people). Your numbers represent an increase of around 20%. That’s a 20% inflation rate. All for a plan that will fail.

Mexico needs us more than we need them. China needs us more than we need them......I can't think of one country we actively trade with that it would not crush their economy if we stopped trading. 

The process will work, it will just take some time.

No, it won’t. China doesn’t need us more than we need them. They will form new alliances with the EU. They’ll grow their soybeans on all that land they are buying in Africa.  You don’t win a war by beating yourself up.

15% of China’s exports go to the US, almost double their next largest receiver of exports.

Losing their cheap crap would inconvenience us but it would cripple them.

Alienate allies and trading partners who now want to seek new trading partners because nobody knows what's going to happen an hour from now, let alone two years.

Creates an uncertain market. Businesses don't like uncertainty. Why would anyone do business with a con man. So are we trying to be an attractive destination for investment or stomp around til we get our way?

Manufacturing jobs coming back isn't gonna happen. Nobody is going to work for lower wages, businesses aren't going to pay more, consumers aren't going to pay more.
