Trump is try to get Fentanyl to stop coming across the border and equal some of our trade deals with other countries......I don't see why both parties can't agree that is a good thing.  

The border doesn't bother me 1 bit... none of this will stop anything

I just hope folks continue to post the #s of daily crossings after this effort

Welp, Mexico gave in, and about 40 minutes ago, Justin Trudeau just committed to 1.3 billion border plan - reinforcing border with new choppers, technology and personnel......

They are also creating a Fentanyl Czar and committing 200 million to fight drug trafficking..... 

I'm pretty good at math, Trump's 2 for 2

Chuck Schumer has really hit the nail on the head with these outrageous Trump Mexico tariffs!!

How are we going to be able to watch the Super Bowl if they avocados and Corona beer goes up 25%?!?

I was going to make some guacamole for Super Bowl but now I’m gonna have to change my plans. I usually use about eight Haas avocados at about 89¢ each. It was going to cost $7.12 but now it would be $8.90!

 The Corona long necks will go up 34¢ each. I was only going to drink about four, but that’ll bring me between the guacamole and beer to $3 more out of my pocket so I can happily watch the Super Bowl.

OUTRAGEOUS!

Just think if I did that every weekend, I would lose $12 a month…..

None. They haven’t gone into effect. He just paused them on Canada, too. A bluff don’t work for long. He’s a blowhard bluffer who hasn’t a clue to what he’s doing.

You have no room to call anyone a blowhard. Trump gets results and you know it.The tariffs weren’t actually meant to be enacted. They are a bargaining tool and it has worked very well. Just because you won’t ever admit it, Trump knows what he is doing.

Says who? Where do you get your info? If Mexico and Canada hadn’t agreed to assist with border security, Trump would have enacted the tariffs. No doubt in my mind. Trump’s tariffs are in effect with China.

Except (surprise!) the tariffs won’t be a factor and all we’re going to do is explode our debt with more deficit spending caused by ignorant cuts in tax revenue exchanged for votes. 
 

I know y’all won’t do it, but you should brush up on your history. In the 1920s our nation was burdened down by bad fiscal policies, our debt had exploded, and our leaders decided that the easiest path out of the mess we’d created was to implement tariffs on other nations.  The Smoot-Hawkey Tariff act of 1930 was signed into law and the Great Depression was worsened and prolonged by all accounts.

The tariffs were never Trump’s plan, tax cuts for the rich and corporations were. He’s not stupid… he knows that the tariffs would greatly damage our economy. But he promised them as a means to offset the cost of his  tax cutting plan. The beauty of his scheme is that his followers see this all as a victory. “See?!! All he had to do was threaten tariffs and those other countries all caved! America!!!” When in fact it was all a shell game designed to implement more tax cuts that will undoubtedly result in an explosion in our debt.

What could make the great depression worse? WWII pulled the US out of the depression even though credit has been given to Roosevelt’s “New Deal”. Did you read up on your history on tariffs, or did you stop when you found something to back your position?
