Sharpie98 Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 They certainly don’t have much discipline this season when compared to past groups. I’ll leave it there. Quote

mfd814 Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 Game on YouTube cut off before the end . ? What happened. OF was up 13 or 14 top of the 4th. Tech called on OF # 10. Then it cuts off. I am sure ran out of time . Anyone have the breakdown ? Quote
Bobcat101 Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 Very disappointed as a bobcat with the discipline this year. AggiesAreWe, Cat22 and Cu Chulainn 3 Quote

I do know there was another technical on Orangefield in the fourth. Quote

TxHoops Posted February 5 Report Posted February 5 @AggiesAreWe I know there was a time when a Silsbee kid got a tech, he had to sit the next game (kind of like the targeting rule in CFB). Was that a Sigler thing or a district thing or what? I wasn’t crazy about that rule because especially down here, I have seen refs hand out technicals for ridiculous reasons. On the other hand, I would think that consequence would stop some of the nonsense going on as well. If a kid misses a layup and is mad at himself and takes a hard two hand dribble with the ball and gets a tech, that’s one thing (I’ve seen that exact scenario). If a kid curses at a ref, an opponent, etc and gets one, should be more than a foul imo. bullets13 and BBfan061 2 Quote

A lot of what I’ve seen with this current team, wasn’t going to fly with those older guys. Quote

Kind of like the scenario you mentioned. But from what I know, there are still consequences for any tech. Only thing that gets you suspended is an ejection. District and UIL has a rule for that and so does Silsbee. These last few weeks of multiple techs being issued to Orangefield players is alarming. There was one game where 4 different players got a tech. I don't recall ever seeing that before. I agree with what is being said. Some lack of leadership among the players. Bobcat1 1 Quote

Funny story - back in the Silsbee runs when they were 10-15 players deep, I was sitting in a gym in Houston when Sigler was platooning 15 kids in that game. A buddy of mine who was from the Houston area and only familiar with Silsbee by reputation commented, “How do you keep those talented kids in line when you are having to divide the minutes up between that many kids?” Another friend, also from Houston and not super familiar with Silsbee commented “Look at their coach. He’s scaring me.” BBfan061 and AggiesAreWe 2 Quote

Also, several could have been 1st team all district had they played for another team in the district. TxHoops 1 Quote
