Region IV Top 10 Teams

1. Johnson City – 10 players return from a 21-10 Regional Semi-Finalist team including Johnny Slawinski III, Sr, P/OF (.446 BA, 4 HR, 81 K, District Pitcher of the Year) and Tate Ledbetter, Sr, INF/P (.320 BA, 39 RS, 1.7 ERA, 1st Team All District)

 

2. Danbury – 7 players return from a 26-6-1 Area Finalist team including Aidan Fiala, Sr, P/SS/3B (.356 BA, 26 SB, 10 W, Southern Brazoria County POY, 24-3A POY, GHBCA Futures All Star) and Zach Cook, Sr, OF/P (.337 BA, HR, 8 2B, 1st Team All District)

 

3. Thorndale – 8 players return from 33-3-1 Regional Semi-Finalist team including Gunner Ferguson, Sr, SS/P (THSBCA 2nd Team All State, District MVP) and Jackson Eschberger, So, INF/OF/P (THSBCA 3rd Team All State, TSWA 3rd Team All State, District Defensive MVP)

 

4. Flatonia – 6 players return from a 28-7 State Semi-finalist team including Titan Targac, Sr, OF/P (.486 BA, 37 RBIs, THSBCA 1st Team All State, TSWA 1st Team All State) and Beck Zimmerman, Sr, C/P (.402 BA, 47 RS, 23 RBI, THSBCA 2nd Team All State, TSWA 3rd Team All State)

I will be pleasantly surprised if Evadale finishes second in district this year. The coach from last year left and it looks like the new coach is the assistant girls basketball coach, so I doubt he has much time to work baseball leading up to the season. If the girls program is as good as they usually are he will be late getting out there to start baseball, hopefully he can get them ready though in  a short time.

Helps that other than Danbury the district isn’t much
