tvc184 Posted Monday at 10:01 PM Report Posted Monday at 10:01 PM No, it’s mutually beneficial. Looking at just a couple of NATO members, their contributions seems to match their GDP. An example the US uses 3.4% of its GDP for NATO but Poland spends 3.9%. Poland is spending 15% more of their money on NATO than the US. Estonia is spending 3.4%, Latvia 3.2% and Greece who just went through a financial crisis is at 3.1%. It would be like complaining that people in Texas with 30,000,000 people pay more total in federal income taxes compared to people in Wyoming with 600,000 people. When you are 50 times bigger, it stands to reason that you will pay roughly 50 times more income tax total. Not counting just NATO but the total US defense spending is larger than (I think) the next 10 largest militaries…. Combined! That’s not only NATO but involves India, China and Russia, who are not part of that organization. Quote
