Greetings,

This letter is presented to clarify the actions taken by Charter Organizations on Monday, February 24, 2025.

On this date,  (Nederland Representative) informed the STJFL that several Charter Organizations had made the decision to remove themselves from the South East Texas Junior Football League (STJFL).  Nederland, Port Neches Groves, Vidor, Orangefield, Lumberton, and Bridge City were the named organizations who requested to be removed.  This request to end years of shared stewardship to the youth of our surrounding area was met with disbelief to say the least.  This request was not sought out by the other current STJFL Charter Organizations.

The Charter Organizations who requested to leave held steadfast with their decision.  As a result, the STJFL did everything within its authority to help them with making a smooth transition.  As the STJFL continues its mission to serve as stewards to the youth of our communities, we wish nothing but the best to the exiting organizations as they begin their new journey.

We would also like to address the disinformation / rumors that have been brought to the STJFL Board and community.
1. Rumors that the weighted limits currently established have been increased or removed.
FALSE: Please note that the Rules Committee for the 2025 Year was formally nominated on February 13, 2025.  There is NOT currently a motion for a future date to address weight limits.  The weight limits as listed under the most recent March 20, 2023 STJFL Constitution & By-Laws are still binding.
2 / 2
2. Expansion Rumors / Concerns
The South East Texas Junior Football League continues to look into ways in which to expand its reach to the youth in our communities.  In the year 2024, Hardin Jefferson joined the STJFL and expanded the STJFL mission to serving the youth of Sour Lake and surrounding areas.

The vetting steps in which Hardin Jefferson had complete, is still binding under the current March 20, 2023 STJFL Constitution & By-Laws.  Any organization who is requesting membership within the STJFL must adhere to the rules and regulations as stated within the STJFL Constitution & By-Laws.

As the current Vice President of the STJFL, I hope I’ve provided clarity as to the events of our former organizations exodus.  I also hope that clarity was given as it relates to the weighted limits and new organization admittance.

The memories and relationships shared with our former organizations will always be a part of the keystone in our foundation.  Again nothing but well wishes and success in your future endeavors.

Respectfully submitted

Carlos D. Hadnot   Vice President

Beaumont, HF, HJ, Jasper, LCM, Silsbee, WOS?

Not sure if all those are still charter organizations anymore though.

Is Lone Star the same as STJFL?

I know Silsbee has a team in Lone Star and a team in Southeast Texas Elite

When I was coaching in STJFL, Lone Star was not the same. We would scrimmage Lone Star teams occasionally, but there was no affiliation between the two. I’ve been out of it for a long time, so I may not know what the hell I’m talking about. Lol.

My grandson plays for the Elite team and they play WO-S, Jasper, Bridge City, Beaumont, Hamshire-Fannett, Orangefield, Lumberton and Port Neches.

Silsbee Elite the did not get invite to the new league. Silsbee Lonestar has their own league and plays other teams.

Not normally one to play this card, but sure seems like the teams who got invited to the new league for the most part have something in common, while the teams left behind for the most part have the opposite in common… but maybe I’m reading too much into it?

Surprised it took this long imo…. No one ready to talk about it tho. I heard the real truth about it all and it’s pretty sad. Shame on PA and BMT for ruining STJFL and SETX youth football!!! Can’t believe they cheated youth sports!!! There is a special place for that in the afterlife.

A kid was ejected from a football game and was suspended for the following week. The President, head coach, and kids dad decided screw the rules and they are going to put the kid in a different jersey number and sneak him into the game next week…

Turning kids away and hand selecting teams, swapping jerseys so LO kids can run the ball… all this coming from a close friend from LCM then called a Lumberton coach that’s been around and backed it all up.
