This weekend as a whole has been the worst collective free throw shooting I’ve ever seen in my life. Peaked my curiosity so I crunched the numbers. Thru the 10 games, all the teams are a combined 213/356 at FT line. 60% Quote
Kowboy98 Posted 16 hours ago Report Posted 16 hours ago I am West Brook basketball alumni. First time seeing my school in the state tournament and final and this feels great. When I saw former WB Coach Charlie B get honored. Along with 2000 Willowridge. I knew we would win. TJ Ford’s wife is WB alumni as well Quote

TxHoops Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago Great job West Brook! Very happy for them and Coach T. I would say Southeast Texas showed pretty well this year in SA. Quote
BMTSoulja1 Posted 11 hours ago Report Posted 11 hours ago Congrats, Brook. I am beyond excited for this group of kids! Can’t wait to see these champs return home tomorrow… Quote

We were discussing this after the Duncanville-Bellaire game...teams before got to have a shootaround before their semifinal game, play a semifinal game, then another shootaround before the championship game if you won...so they had more time to adjust to the cavernous setting... That wasn't the case this year and I wonder if that contributed to the poor FT shooting this year AggiesAreWe 1 Quote

(even at Erwin Center) One reason why I like having regional tournaments. Most were held in arenas (Merrell, Sam Houston, Campbell, etc.) That helps with getting adjusted to shooting in those type settings. Really wish UIL changes things after next year. Most people I have talked to don't like this set up. Quote

Of course, I am a big proponent to not have divisions in basketball and other sports. I don't think it's necessary. Football, yes. It's needed. Other sports, not so much. Definitely not needed, was just wanted to be like football. Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted 1 hour ago Author Report Posted 1 hour ago Final FT numbers shot by all teams combined at state tourney: 229/387 .591 59% FT shooting is not good in any setting. Quote

I'm against the divisions but I like regionals at one venue so teams could watch each other pla and have some sort of game plan going forward. I'm not even sure we should have 4 teams going to playoffs. I believe it waters some districts down like it did ours this year when HD/Burkeville fiasco happemed and we went to playoffs and got embarrased by a good first place team. I may be wrong, but we didn't deserve the playoffs as a 5th place team. Don't get me wrong as I love our school we just should have played better. IMO. I am a very loyal fan. Quote
