I agree we should fix the tax code - I want to pay less......you may not admit it, but you want to pay less too..... and if you were a billionaire - you would want to pay as little as possible too....it's human nature if your not an idiot. No one wants to give their money away and see it spent on stupid stuff,,,,, as for laying off government workers......needed to be done. Quote

baddog Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 No, probationary federal employees cannot be fired for any reason. They have protections, and can challenge firings that violate their rights. Explanation Probationary employees can be fired for poor performance or conduct. They can be fired if they don't demonstrate that they are fit for the job. They can't be fired for discrimination based on race, gender, or disability. Whistleblowers who report fraud or abuse are protected from retaliation. If a probationary employee is reinstated after a successful legal challenge, they may be entitled to back pay. Quote

Separation Scientist Posted March 14 Report Posted March 14 For those who are rational, its worth noting that the markets and the Presidency have a very, very poor correlation. Investment Pros will all tell you to be apolitical while investing. If anything, the market performance AFTER a presidential term is more closely aligned with policies from the previous administration, because new policy take years to impliment. In other words, you can't build a factory or lay a pipeline overnight. The Profits wiil come in the following years after construction is complete and production commences. Quote
