It's hard to believe that Trump has managed to brainwash you all into villifying government workers. If you lost your job due to Trump's rhetoric, you would be devastated.

I hate that people lose a job but those decisions are made everyday in every job sector there is. I am in oil and gas, I have been through lay offs, had to hustle to find work with bills, kids and wife worried. No one was crying on a message board for me and I would not want them to.

In my work, we hire contract guys to do some of the work for us. They are brought in with a timeline and work that needs to be completed. When it is done they are laid off and find another contract. If I kept guys on after the contract was over because I felt bad for them, our company would go bankrupt. Sort of like our government is doing right now. The government has a bunch of workers (hundreds of thousands) that basically have no oversight. They are not bad people but they have a system they can play.

Many people on the left do not understand why we wanted a Donald Trump in office. The argument always was "he has no political experience". EXACTLY, look what decades of 'political experience' has gotten us. We need a business mind and model to make government efficient. If companies in the private sector were run like the government, the would not last 3 or 4 years.

Excellent post. Of course she won’t understand and give her usual “whatever” comeback. To your last paragraph, that’s the reason I voted Perot.

The stock market declined almost all of 2022. Why wern't you whining and crying about it then?

That President did not promise rainbows and unicorns if he got his way. Since being elected, he’s now talking “short term pain” while he works his manic. Who, exactly is going to feel that pain? Not the ruling class.

So, had he not "promised" rainbows and unicorns you would have been ok with it they way you loved bidens weak performance

The last president to make millions in the private sector before becoming President? Herbert Hoover. Business is not Government. They have vastly different objectives. Business moguls do not like to share power, and I understand that. Under a three branch system of government they have to. Perot was not going to “fix” anything. Instead, we got the best economy since the post war boom with a Democratic President who understood that power sharing was necessary to accomplish anything.

“That” president did promise “rainbows and unicorns” if you catch my drift. It’s a big part of why he was such a failure to the American people.

The stock market will rebound. This is what happens when a president inherits a disaster.

Should people get to keep their jobs even if they aren't needed? they're downsizing and eliminating wasteful and unnecessary programs, and eliminating unneeded and redudant positions in necessary programs. it works exactly the same way the private sector does.  If a hospital closed its cardiology dept would they keep paying cardiology nurses and doctors? It's kind of funny how concerned the left is about jobs being cut now. I never heard a word about it in 2024 when 20.3M American employees were laid off across the country.

Minimal.....it's no where near 9%

A 50% jump is not minimal. A 2 day 1500 pt. drop in the DOW is neither minimal or coincidental. His idiotic on again off again tarriff threats are breeding uncertainty in the markets. He has no control over over that. If he stands on what he says about April 2 being the big drop date for across the board tariffs (which I doubt he will) he’s going to crash our economy.

He’s not going to crash the economy, that’s ridiculous.  And I’m sure when the market takes off, which it will, you’ll disappear again, just like CB, because there’s nothing happening that you can blame Trump for.

It's very simple. Why employ 25 when 10 can do the job just as efficiently?

AAW, you ruined it with 'It's very simple'...lol

I have talked about a flat tax. Everyone pay 10% (arguable number).

But, but, but If I pay 10% Musk should pay more. Nevermind his 10% is much larger than my 10%.

I saw this on X:

"For some reason when JoeBama was firing workers for refusing the vaccine, not one Democrat spoke up.  But firing federal workers for wasting taxpayer money is the end of democracy as we know it according to the democrats."

Now, would this be the definition of hypocrisy?!

@CardinalBacker - THIS - Trump actually confronted Hillary on this subject during one of the debates they had......and if I recall, she had no answer......

I remember it well… then he had four years in which to address the subject, but instead he gave tax cuts that benefited the rich who were actually paying theirs.

Do you expect Trump to address the loopholes in the system that he (and rich people of all political persuasions) utilize to pay income taxes at a smaller percentage of their total income than you or I? Because the Rs control both chambers and the presidency. Nobody can stop them if they decide to close the loopholes… Will they?

I wish they would but I doubt it

That’s Trump. He cannot promise anything else but. “I alone can fix it”? Gimme a break. He’s P.T. Barnum with dangerous power.

Well too bad your party has nothing nor no one to  put out there to make it better.

I’m afraid it’s going to be 10 doing the work of 25. Not as simple as it seems.
